Job Description

This position will be responsible for providing commercial support to PayPal's merchant sales and channel partner business units. The successful candidate will partner with PayPal's global and strategic accounts sales teams to negotiate the most strategic and complex transactions with PayPal's merchants, marketplaces and partners spanning all of PayPal's product and service offerings globally.

The position will involve drafting and negotiating complex agreements and providing quick, concise and commercially focused legal advice. Ideally this attorney will be well-versed in technology, licensing and financial services, with a critical eye towards risk and regulatory issues. Because the job will involve a large amount of drafting, editing and writing, exceptional writing skills are an absolute necessity. The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter with strong interpersonal and organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively and proactively provide sound legal advice, exercise good business judgment, work with senior management and implement policies and processes on a cross-functional basis in a fast-paced environment.

Other desired qualifications include:
• Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree, with state bar membership
• At least 8 years' experience practicing either in-house or at a law firm
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to generate creative original legal documents
• Hands-on experience, either as outside or inside counsel, to financial services or technology companies
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to work both in teams and independently
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills and the ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders across the globe
• Experience in payments or finance, particularly with fintech, digital assets or blockchain technology
• Ability to be highly engaged and succeed in a collaborative environment

New York City Only : The pay range for this position is as mentioned below per year, plus annual bonus. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary.
