The Cutover platform interconnects teams and technologies through Collaborative Automation, enabling customers to successfully manage their IT disaster recovery, cloud migration, and release strategies. We recently raised $35 million in a Series B funding round led by Eldridge (alongside existing investors Index Ventures, Sussex Place Ventures, and Contour Ventures) and we’re thrilled to be embarking on our next chapters of growth.

With Cutover, you’ll be joining a visionary organization and making a real impact.  Our Executive team is keen to invest in building a world-class in-house Legal function, so we’re delighted to start the search for a stellar Mid-Senior Legal Counsel to join us and propel our team forward. This is a New York-based role. 

What impact will you have as our Legal Counsel?

• Working closely with our VP, Senior Counsel and international legal team, you’ll be leading negotiations with some of the world’s largest and most exciting companies (including our clients, partners and suppliers), helping to develop our partner legal track (working on reselling, managed outsourcing and referral arrangements) and generally helping to finesse the foundations that our VP, Senior Counsel has already established. You’ll be negotiating an excitingly broad array of technology, data, and intellectual property contracts and mentoring our junior legal team members.   
• Collaborating with various departments, you’ll be a trusted advisor across the team.
• You’ll provide a strong level of partnership to our go-to-market teams: collaborating closely with our Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Financial Officer, RVP’s of Sales, Partnerships, and Customer Success, providing expert counsel, and ensuring legal is seen as a deal accelerator, rather than a bottleneck.  

What would we like you to bring to the table?

• You’re a US Qualified Lawyer based in or around New York. Ideally New York qualified. 
• We’re seeing this as a mid-senior-level Legal Counsel role, so you’ll have at least 6-8 years relevant post-qualification experience.  
• Ideally, you’ll have played a Senior Legal Counsel role in other quickly-growing technology businesses; bonus points if you’re coming from an Enterprise B2B SaaS company working with financial services clients and you understand the complexity and nuance of navigating high-value contracts and lengthy deal cycles. 
• You’re fascinated by new tech and innovative ways of doing business - you’re not a back-office legal person, but someone who wants to be a genuine partner to the business (you can demonstrate how you’ve successfully partnered with key stakeholders from the broader business - not just the commercial side of things - in your previous roles).
• With a love of technology and contract drafting, you’ll roll up your sleeves and get stuck in to partner with our teams to help us reach our revenue targets whilst protecting the business and ensuring we work within our risk parameters.
• We’d like you to provide a copy of your current practising certificate along with your application, please.

Target compensation package: $180,000 - $225,000 + stock options + benefits. 

The final offer may vary from the target compensation package, taking into consideration factors such as your experience level and skill set.  If we aren't aligned on salary at this stage, we’d still love to hear from you to better understand if there are more suitable opportunities at Cutover.
