Senior Legal Counsel Europe (f/m/d)

Join our international Legal team as a Senior Legal Counsel Europe (f/m/d) at our Berlin site, where you will be responsible for providing legal support to the activities of the Materials Solutions Division (Atotech) and other MKS business areas in Europe. With a broad range of tasks as a generalist and a high degree of autonomy, you will advise management and other departments on all business-related legal matters. In the Legal team, we see ourselves as business partners contributing to the success of the company while enjoying professional and personal development on an international level.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Drafting, assessing, and negotiating contracts of all types in both German and English, particularly sales and supply agreements, cooperation and development contracts, distribution agreements, quality agreements, maintenance and service contracts, consulting agreements, procurement contracts, confidentiality agreements, etc.
• Providing strategic and ad hoc advice to management and departments, especially in the context of manufacturing, selling, and distributing the company's products as well as regarding the legal framework for the company's business activities.
• Assessing legal risks and developing solutions to minimize them.
• Providing legal support for the business activities of European subsidiaries.
• Defending the company against third-party claims (e.g., warranty claims) and enforcing the company's claims.
• Collaborating on specific cross-functional projects, such as in M&A or in designing and optimizing internal processes.
• Supporting the compliance department.
• Conducting internal training sessions.
• Coordinating collaboration with external advisors, including quality and cost control.
   

Skills You Bring:

• Experience in negotiating international business transactions and contracts, as well as in-depth knowledge of German law.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a solid understanding of economic principles and a strong solution-oriented approach.
• Ability to handle complex cross-departmental issues.
• Fluent negotiation skills in English and German combined with strong negotiation abilities and intercultural competence.
• Openness to change and enjoyment of working in an international team along with the ability and willingness to quickly adapt to changing challenges, tasks, and topics.
   

Preferred skills:

• Fully qualified lawyer in Germany (1st and 2nd state examination) or other successfully completed law degree in Europe.
• Relevant and proven professional experience in an international industrial company or a business consulting law firm.
• High level of personal responsibility coupled with a strong focus on results as well as discretion and reliability.
