What you'll do:
Legal Process:
- Receive, process, log and respond to subpoenas from government agencies and law firms, via electronic and hard copy
- Receive, process, log and respond to levies, writs and garnishments from government agencies and law firms, via electronic and hard copy
- Receive, process, log and respond to Bankruptcies, Foreclosures and Sherrif Sales from government agencies and law firms, via electronic and hard copy
- Receive, process, log and respond to Information Subpoenas with Restraining Notices from government agencies and law firms, via electronic and hard copy
Board of Directors and Compliance Committee Meeting Preparation:
- Create meeting agendas
- Compile, upload and disseminate meeting materials
- Finalize meeting minutes
- Maintain Board Information Calendar
Branch Questions (e.g., account closings, POAs, death of depositors, trusts & estates):
- Monitor Legal Process Inbox for questions
- Review, record, research and respond to Legal Research Request Forms
Requests for Information (Audit, Regulatory)
- Receive and respond to requests for minutes/excerpts
Maintain Legal Records:
- Approved Attorney List
- Litigation Spreadsheet
- LPO/Locations Spreadsheet
- Regulation O Officer list (circulate quarterly)
- Board Committee assignments, legal policies & charters (Code of Conduct, Insider Trading, Whistleblower, N&CG Charter), maintain Corporate Governance spreadsheet, update website policies
- Receive and Review Lega Dept. Mail
What do you need?
- 3-5 years of legal assistant or paralegal experience
- Banking background is required
- Attention to detail
- Organization/Meeting deadlines
- Ability to review statutes and regulations
- Ability to review legal documents (POAs, declaration of trust, etc.)
- Clear and professional communication
- Multi-tasking, flexibility
- Management experience
Technology Skills:
- Paralegal Certification
- Diligent (or other Board Portal Platform)
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
- Adobe
- Banking platforms (e.g., Insight, ImageCenter)
