Senior Linux Administrator

Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to work for our company.

Summary:

• Client Agency is IRS.
• Must be able to pass IRS Background check (Basic eligibility requirements include: U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history, no recent or pending bankruptcies).  
• The Senior Linux Administrator will m anage and maintain Red Hat Linux environments (version 6 and higher) in z/OS virtual servers, configuring Red Hat Clustering for high availability and performance while troubleshooting system workflows, log files, and connectivity issues. Will provide technical leadership in Linux installations, leveraging tools like Docker, GFS, Satellite server, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Terraform to enhance system performance and automation.

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass IRS Background check (Basic eligibility requirements include: U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history, no recent or pending bankruptcies).  
• Must have 5+ years of experience with Red Hat Linux (version 6 and higher) in virtualized z/OS environments.
• Must have 3+ years of experience leading a team.
• Must have experience with Red Hat Linux virtual servers in a z/OS environment.
• Must have hands-on experience configuring and managing Red Hat Clustering.
• Must have hands-on experience configuring and managing repository databases.
• Must have advanced troubleshooting skills, including debugging log files, error messages, connectivity, workflows, and installation issues.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite in Washington, DC at least 50% of the time.

Preferences:

• Familiarity with Solaris (version 10 or higher)
• Experience with Docker, Global File System (GFS) configuration, Satellite server, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Terraform is highly valued.
