What's exciting about the role

We are seeking an experienced L3/L4 Linux Administrator with Networking Knowledge (Load Balancer, Firewall) to join our dynamic IT Services group. This is an exceptional opportunity to be a key player in delivering platform services for a variety of applications and databases, supporting our Global Business Systems & Engineering teams

Position Summary:

• We are looking for a L3/L4 Linux Administrator with Networking Knowledge (Load Balancer, Firewall).
• Who will work with IT Services groups to deliver platform services for different applications and databases at VeriFone.  This position is to provide day to day support operations to IT Global Business systems & Engineering teams.
• Build/Deploy Linux Servers required for new projects.
• Working with various teams internal/external (Application, Database & Information Security).
• The candidate would be working on supporting day to day IT Service operations with senior staff supervision such as Daily Health Checks on approximately 500 plus Linux Servers, OS Patching, Daily Backup checks and update the records for SOX compliance reports, Systems Monitoring and Alerting - work closely with ITOC to be the Level 1 contact. 
• Able to work well under pressure and under stressful situations such as month ends and quarter ends.
• Self-motivated, ability to maintain excellence in service with minimum supervision. 
   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Consistent interaction with internal/external groups within IT Services as well as application teams on delivering business requirements/project.
• Resolve issues and escalations.
• Deploy Server & Storage as needed for projects.
• Organize platform delivery including VM provisioning, Storage provisioning to ensure quality of service.
• Proactively look to improve and add efficiency to current processes and exercise judgment in the decision-making process to provide consistent customer service.
• Produce documentation on our standards and operational procedures along with Senior staff.
• Automating the process using scripting/Ansible.

Knowledge and Experience:

• 10 to 12 years of experience as a Linux Administrator.
• Basic to Mid-Level experience on Networking (Load Balancer, Firewall).
• Basic project management experience.
• Monitoring Backups/Servers/Services.
• A basic working knowledge of VMware, OCI, Azure Administration.
