Senior Linux System Administrator
Job Description
Torch is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator. Thecandidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining Linux systems in a mixed platform Windows/Linux integrated environment supporting modeling and simulation and software development.
Perform the setup, configuration, maintenance, and day-to-day operation of Linux-based clients and servers.
Provide onsite Linux administration duties for end-users including; hardware and software support, file system maintenance, and server administration.
Responsible for reviewing various user requirements and outlining potential solutions.
Conduct security self inspections to ensure secure operation of customer networks and ongoing accreditation
Preferred Work Experience:
Experience or ability to learn layer 2 network device configuration.
Experience or ability to learn VMware virtualization technologies.
Experience with storage platforms and technologies.
Ability to work with a team of diverse skill sets (Windows, VMware, Cisco) to provide solutions.
Understanding of DISA HBSS products and how they interact with the Linux operating system.
Job Requirements
Required Work Experience:
Bachelor's Degree preferred, or an Associate Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. Over 8 years related systems administration experience.
At least seven years of CentOS or Red Hat Linux administration experience.
Required Security+ certification and a Linux OS certification.
Experience with scripting for automation (Python, BASH, Shell, Ansible).
Understanding and experience with STIGs, SCAP, and vulnerability scans.
Experience automating OS deployment and system baselining.
Currently active SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain TS.
