Senior Mainframe Engineer

Our client is one of the biggest banks in Germany.  

We are looking for a Senior Mainframe Engineer to join the dedicated Softeta team working on the Cards core platform. You will take part in a complex merge/transformation program. We’re looking for professionals who are focused on quality, commitments and a joyful environment.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the mainframe software solutions, ensuring quality, scalability, performance, and reusability;
• Maintain good code quality and standards. Perform code reviews;
• Work in a team, transforming user stories into functional applications;
• Helping to drive a change in a virtual organization following agile methodologies.

Technologies - Cobol, DB2/SQL, JCL, IDz.

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven experience in software development with COBOL;
• Understanding the way mainframe applications are written and being familiar with the challenges it bring;
• Skilled in using best development practices (unit testing, code reviews);
• Strong sense of ownership;
• Knowledge of the securities transactions settlement process;
• Good understanding of financial markets and instruments;
• Business fluent German and advanced (B1-B2) English level required.
