Department Overview: Reporting to the Managing Director and WBG Chief Administrative Officer (MDCAO), the Global Corporate Solutions (GCS) department brings together the functions of Corporate Security, Corporate Real Estate, and Corporate Services.

About the Corporate Real Estate Division: The Corporate Real Estate Division (GCSCR) of the World Bank Group supports the IBRD, IDA, and MIGA, in realizing and executing their real estate needs worldwide. It is the key interlocutor between Senior Management, operational management, and staff of IBRD, IDA, MIGA, and ICSID. GCSCR's primary purpose is to create strategic, cost effective, functional, efficient, and safe real estate solutions for its clientele.

Duties and Accountabilities:

The Senior Manager Corporate Real Estate leads the development and implementation of the World Bank's global Real Estate Strategy and coordinates closely with IFC for the IBRD/IDA and IFC offices that are co-located globally. The Senior Manager oversees the Headquarters real estate portfolio and owned and managed Country Offices, and coordinates closely with the Regions on the acquisition, improvement, and maintenance of all other offices. The Senior Manager has regular interactions at the Managing Director and Vice Presidents, ensuring the real estate portfolio is aligned with evolving WBG strategic priorities, operational requirements, and global footprint expansion. S/he manages the Real Estate work program to contribute to organizational cost-efficiencies. The Senior Manager leads the development and implementation of workplace design strategies and space standards for hybrid work arrangement. The Senior Manager works with a range of internal and external stakeholders and vendor partners to deliver the Corporate Real Estate work program.

Key areas of responsibility include:
• Leading setting of the Corporate Real Estate strategy in support of WBG key business priorities and working closely with stakeholders across the organization• Building strong partnerships with management and key stakeholders across the WBG (including Regions, Global Practices, and IFC) to provide real estate solutions that are responsive to operational needs and well-coordinated. across the WBG.• Overseeing and directing the ongoing operations of the global facilities to ensure that they are operated in a safe, healthy, secure, sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective manner in partnership with Corporate Security and the Health and Safety Department.• Driving the implementation of the Real Estate programs in support of Global Footprint expansion strategy and facilities optimization for hybrid work arrangements.• Implementing change management methodologies to improve the effectiveness and acceptance of real estate and facilities projects.• Managing the Corporate Real Estate budget ($70 million in admin and $100 million in capital budget annually) ensuring consistent fiduciary and quality controls. Ensuring that Real Estate program contributes to efficiency targets as part of the budget commitments in the capital package. • Advising clients and colleagues in handling complex facilities and real estate projects, tasks and issues.• Overseeing the implementation of data analytics capabilities for real estate and facilities decision making and reporting. • Leading the secretariat for the WBG Global Real Estate Governance Council (REGC).• Overseeing the ongoing review, revision, development, and implementation of the global real estate, facilities management, workplace environment planning, standards, policies, and processes. Ensuring that sustainability considerations are integrated into WBG facilities design and management.• Managing and developing a global team composed of over 70 real estate and facilities staff. Driving and inspiring technical excellence within the team and across GCS by creating an environment of learning and innovation that attracts and develops the best talent reflective of the diversity of our clients.• Member of the GCS Senior Leadership and Departmental Management Team.

Selection Criteria
• Advanced degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Architecture, Engineering, Business Management etc.) and substantial relevant professional experience (typically the successful candidate will have about 15 to 20 years of experience in positions of increasing complexity and responsibility). Experience overseeing and managing a large, global real estate portfolio a significant plus.• Sound business acumen, as well as thorough knowledge of related policies, programs, and procedures, with demonstrated results in delivering programs worldwide.• Outstanding interpersonal, diplomatic and partnership skills required for building and maintaining collaborative relationships with senior management, government officials, partners and other stakeholders.• Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak persuasively and present ideas clearly and concisely, as well as demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to strategy and policy papers for Senior Management and the Board.• Superior level of resourcefulness, ability to work with considerable autonomy as well as willingness to work under pressure and through the whole spectrum of activities from the strategic level to the resolution of specific implementation issues.• Demonstrated strategic thinking skills and ability to engage in a substantive dialogue on complex issues and corporate priorities.• Experience in innovating, translating ideas into action plans and delivering results.
