About the role:
EnergyCAP, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Accounting to support the Chief Financial Officer in all accounting and accounting infrastructure responsibilities to scale our growing company. The right individual will combine their analytical and strategic thinking to develop a sound financial future for EnergyCAP, and work closely with teams across the company, as well as with external partners. This candidate will have a solid foundation in reporting as well as GAAP and be able to perform technical accounting research. To be successful in this role you must be a hardworking and detail-oriented professional with exceptional communication skills, as you will be communicating cross functionally throughout the organization on a daily basis regarding various aspects of accounting, tax, monthly reporting packages, as well as ad hoc projects and assignments. This is an exciting role with vast educational and growth opportunities and provides great experience working directly with the Chief Financial Officer.
The Senior Manager, Accounting is responsible for leading the accounting team and overseeing all accounting activities, including Revenue Recognition, Invoicing, Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable, Payroll and other functions at EnergyCAP. This role leads all aspects of GAAP accounting, operations, and reporting, including establishing scalable processes, policies, procedures, and key metrics, as well as technical analyses. Location:Â The position is based out of Denver, CO (office located in the Tech Center). Employees work a hybrid schedule; two days in the office and three days remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and be accountable for accuracy, timeliness and efficiency of all processes related to EnergyCAP’s accounting under GAAP, including review of agreements, revenue & cost accounting, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.
- Manage and develop direct reports.
- Be responsible for driving monthly close reporting & processes to ensure timely and accurate month-end close activities and reporting.
- Oversee all aspects of General Ledger while reviewing and determining appropriate US GAAP Accounting principles for company business initiatives.
- Manage timely and accurate reporting of our internal reporting package that includes financial and operational reporting metrics.
- Collaborate and build relationships with all departments, providing data and insights that help managers and executives make informed decisions.
- Develop accounting processes, systems, policies, documentation, and controls, including ASC 606.
- Lead tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, indirect and other applicable taxes.
- Responsible for technical and advanced accounting areas including revenue recognition, unique and complex transactions, stock-based compensation, purchase accounting, etc.
- Ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and disclosures under US GAAP, including the development and maintenance of accounting policies.
Required experience and skills:
You will thrive as the Senior Manager, Accounting if you meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree; CPA with a thorough understanding and experience in GAAP.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience, including experience in public accounting as well as SaaS operational accounting.
- 2+ years' experience managing a team.
- Progressive accounting experience in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt quickly to change.
- Detail-oriented and able to problem solve both autonomously and collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to translate data into useful information for decision-making.
- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and to lead and drive complex operational initiatives.
- Experience researching and preparing accounting analysis for complex and technical transactions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skillsÂ
- Highest standards of accuracy, precision & integrity; highly organized.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to think creatively, highly driven, and self-motivated.
- Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work closely with team members.
- Have NetSuite and Salesforce experience.

Compensation: The salary range for this Denver, Colorado-based position is $110,000 to $130,000, plus bonus. Pay is commensurate on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
