Senior Manager, Accounting

NOTE: This role is based in NYC. Forum Brands operates a flexible, hybrid office policy in which employees are expected to be in-person at least three days per week.*
What you'll do:
- Establish financial controls: coordinate and assist in the development of accounting policies and update the company's accounting policy manual/handbook as necessary
- Maintain reporting integrity: ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, cash flow/treasury and tax management in compliance with GAAP
- Lead monthly close: manage monthly closing of the books, including maintaining a closing checklist, billing, AP & AR and general ledger reconciliations
- Optimize business performance: identify and implement process improvements across the organization to increase efficiency (i.e. taxes, inventory management, etc.)
- Audit: serve as contact for external auditors for all financial statement reviews/annual audits and preparation of tax returns
- Budgeting: participate in budgeting and forecasting to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial projections
- Cross-Functional Partnership: partner with M&A and Brand Growth teams, especially in financial integration of new acquisitions
Requirements
- 5-7 years of accounting experience; audit & tax experience preferred
- Experience in retail or eCommerce start-up
- CPA preferred
- Thorough knowledge of US GAAP reporting
- Experience with ledger functions and month-end close
- Ability to distill technical accounting issues to stakeholders, including individuals with non-finance backgrounds
Bonus points if you
- Have experience in a highly-acquisitive company or with M&A diligence
- Have working knowledge of NetSuite
- Are familiar with international accounting standards

Salary: $130,000 - $140,000 + bonus and equity
