Summary of the Role:

The candidate is responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure the company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with Amadeus financial policies. This position sets tight deadlines to ascertain the multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end closing and support local tax compliance, audit and annual accounts preparation are met. The candidate directs a team and will have contact with executive level personnel, which requires strong interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the day-to-day General ledger and Fixed Assets matters, in order to ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting.
• Coordinate, oversee and optimize the accounting closing and reporting processes from and end-to-end perspective.
• Preparation of statutory consolidated local financial statements on a GAAP basis for all US-owned legal entities and affiliates.
• Review due diligence reports on possible mergers and acquisitions. Once acquired provide accounting guidance and integrate activities into the overall operation.
• To collaborate in the Corporate Policies definition, identify improvement opportunities to drive changes in these areas and lead its implementation in the Group Companies. To migrate any new companies into the SAP/S4 Hana ERP platform with the required due diligence.
  • Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.
  • Coordinates and oversees the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (similar to SOX) activities relative to internal controls documentation and testing and segregation of duties.
  • Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records. Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings
• Deliver service excellence and maximize customer service and satisfaction. Develop, build, and maintain effective working relationships with the stakeholders of the countries in scope.
• Manage the business insurance policy renewals for all lines of insurance for the North American market. This includes liability, umbrella, employment practices/crime/fiduciary, workers compensation, cyber liability, and directors & officers. Serve as the primary liaison with insurance broker and functional contacts within Amadeus to complete annual insurance application and possible audits. Also, coordinates with legal teams in the event of any claims. Work with Central risk management team to review and assess exposures to be addressed.
• Team Management, establishing team goals, priorities and performance objectives, reviewing performance and methods employed, and spearheading the team's decision-making process, ascertain training to new and existing staff as needed, monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

Requirements:

• BS equivalent or higher in Accounting or Finance required. CPA/CMA or MBA a plus.
• 7+ years of either Public Accounting or Private Industry accounting experience within a multinational business.
• Prior management experience required.
• Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions.
• Experience in analyzing business performance and financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting, required. Working knowledge of IFRS preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• High level of integrity, accountability, teamwork, and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Strong problem solving and creative skills, the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
• Ability to work cross-culturally.
• Experience with ERP system required. SAP experience preferred.
