Job Description

Nimbus Therapeutics is looking for highly qualified Assistant Controller at the Senior Manager / Associate Director level to serve as a key representative of the Controller’s organization to provide guidance around the application of accounting policies, financial reporting, and the implementation of US GAAP and internal controls.Ā  This role will also work closely with external auditors, valuation experts, and legal counsel to timely resolve complex accounting issues.Ā  This will be a highly visible role that reports to the Controller and partners closely with leadership and the broader Finance & Accounting team

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all monthly financial closes in accordance with US GAAP
  • Work with the Controller to develop a sustainable and scalable monthly financial reporting process
  • Partner with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to analyze monthly financial results and report actuals to investors
  • Drive efficiencies and process improvements on an ongoing basis
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of a new financial system
  • Provide detailed review of technical accounting position papers/memos for significant or unusual transactions, new accounting standards, or critical judgements
  • Establish and manage an effective internal control environment
  • Implement new accounting standards including issuance and updating of corporate accounting policies and procedures
  • Responsible for share-based compensation accounting and maintenance of equity administration system
  • Prepare schedules supporting elements of annual tax provision, tax analyses and periodic tax compliance efforts
  • Work closely with external auditors to liaise with the external auditors and ensure successful completion of all annual audits and quarterly reviews

These Qualifications Will Help This Role Be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & CPA Certification required
  • "Big 4" accounting firm background highly desired
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry required
  • Experience with the preparation or review of company SEC filings and application of U.S. GAAP rules to complex technical accounting issues (including collaboration agreements, consolidation, lease, and share-based compensation accounting)
  • Experience with Shareworks preferred
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills required with demonstrated success in leading projects and interacting with cross functional teams
  • Ability to navigate, problem-solve, execute, and lead in a dynamic, fast-paced and evolving environment
