*Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. The location preference is this position will be on-site (preference 3x a week). *We offer relocation assistance for non-local candidates.
How You'll Make an Impact
The Senior Manager, Business Analytics will lead the Sales Analytics & Optimization team, focused on the management of multiple critical growth drivers across key accounts. This includes pricing and funding, promotions and merchandising, product assortment, and shelving. Leading this team will include establishing best practices for identifying and communicating data-driven insights and indicated actions that drive accelerated growth and increased efficiency, as well as establish consistency and best practices for price and profitability strategies across business and product lines. This leader will collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders across marketing, sales, supply chain, and finance. In the role, you would be responsible for:
- Business Analyst Leadership: Manage and lead your team's role in the monthly financial input process, which will include collaborating with finance, sales, and accounting teams to ensure the monthly financial inputs are accurate and timely.
- Coaching, developing, and managing a team that drives the business through the following activities:
- Pricing Analysis : Identify ideal everyday and promotional price gaps; monitor to ensure Valvoline stays within them; recommend changes as needed.
- Promotions, Funding & Financial Execution: Evaluate promotions via a robust pre and post event analysis process. Make optimizations to promotional events and plans to drive out ineffective dollars and drive volume, sales, and profit higher.
- Assortment: Evaluate assortment by retailer to ensure Valvoline and retailer maintains the optimal shelf set. Make recommendations to drive Valvoline market share and category growth.
- Volume Forecasting: Regular collaboration with the supply chain analysts to provide monthly updates to consumption and shipment forecasts by account.
- Technology Leadership: Oversee analytical systems such as Trade Promotion Management system, SAP master data and analytic enablement, Shopper Insights platform, and POS/Category Management systems.
- Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
What You'll Need
- BA in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Communication, or related field
- Minimum of seven years of CPG marketing analytics, business/data analysis, finance/accounting or related experience
- Minimum of three years of people management experience
- Deep expertise in turning business results/data into insights and actionable recommendations
- Ability to coach and develop others
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Sales/Customer-facing experience, ability to be partner persuasively
- Data management and analysis skills, merging several data sources, identifying trends (Excel, Data Visualization tools, SAP, Reporting tools)
- Strong experience in financial and analytical skills; must be able to analyze information and provide recommendations
- Decision quality - make good decisions based upon mixture of facts, analysis and experience
- Ability to tactfully challenge assumptions made by others
- Strong business acumen - knows how business works, knowledge of business and organization basics, as well as current and future trends affecting the business and organization; is aware of how strategies and tactics are implemented by the business units
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
