Who We’re Looking For:

For the position, we’re looking for a collaborative capability builder that looks forward to building the future of BI at Kalderos – able to balance being hands on to drive value in the near-term with building a team/vision for the future. The role requires someone who loves to take on this type of challenge, while having material impact to the business and leadership team exposure.

  • Guides BI capability maturation, roadmap, and prioritization of development over time, as a partner with business leadership to further enable data-driven decisioning and insights. This will include hiring and building out a BI team over time  
  • Drives near-term impact by partnering with Product Management, Engineering, and other teams to practically deliver value through new reporting and analytics – moving from low-tech to high-tech over time
  • Investigates and evaluates business requirements to prioritize enterprise build-out of reporting and analytics
  • Works with Engineering to evaluates architecture, technologies, and approach to raise data quality and availability for key internal and external business needs
  • Partners with multiple levels of the organization from helping establish our BI strategy to working hands on with data extraction, data capture, process improvement, analysis, reporting, and visualization
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with key stakeholders to solve complex problems utilizing information systems and data 
  • Guides roll-out of data usage across the organization and collaborates with  teams on using relevant data to measure their progress, support their narratives, and drive business goals
  • Promotes a culture of data-driven decision making and continuous improvement, and enhances the organization's capabilities for data and analytics
  • Establishes processes for automation of operational tasks by creating reports and queries, working with internal teams and vendors, and streamlining processes

General Experience Guidelines:

We know your experience extends beyond what you have on paper. The following is a guideline of general experience we’re looking for in this role:

  • 4+ years of experience working in: Business Intelligence or Analytics roles; consulting roles at intersection of technology/analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, statistics/mathematics, economics 
  • Demonstrated combination of: business acumen solving business problems, aptitude and interest working with technology, and storytelling to harness value and impact of  insights 
  • You have experience solving business problems with data, working in cross-functional environments, and being part of creation of new organizational capabilities (processes, low and advanced technology applications, working models).
  • Although flexibility may exist, an ideal candidate will bring deep experience with SQL, dbt, BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Looker), and with cloud computing technology such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Working knowledge and experience with statistical concepts (significance calculations, confidence intervals, A/B testing, etc.)

  • You have experience building out a BI function within an organization and managing a team of proficient data analysts  
  • When faced with obstacles, you quickly establish a point-of-view, build alignment, and rally the team around the common goal. You are extremely motivated by success and against all odds, you want to  'storm a hill and plant a flag'
