What you will do

As a Business Intelligence & Data Science Manager within Johnson Controls Global Products Planning organization, you will be responsible for diving deep into large, fragmented, and complex data sets that span our entire supply chain. This position will require a creative problem solver that isn't afraid to get into the details and build out digital solutions to unlock efficiency within our business. You will be responsible for building tools to consolidate, analyze, and drive strategic decision making across our supply chain.You will work with many different partners to understand the problem, identify the solution, and execute on bringing the solution to life. In addition, you will also be responsible for a team of BI analysts. This will be a leadership position that will require prioritization across multiple projects to ensure deadlines are met in our fast pace environment.

How you will do it

  • Run the day-to-day operational activities of the Business Intelligence team and ensure team goals are achieved.
  • Build the data science roadmap and strategy for executing projects that will use advanced analytics concepts to drive tactical changes across the enterprise.
  • Own your projects by crafting project plans, tracking progress, and communicating project updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Build, develop and maintain data models, automated reports, and dashboards that align to strategic performance metrics.
  • Design and develop digital solutions that drive insights into major supply chain metrics such as, On-time Delivery, Days Inventory on Hand, Inventory Health, and Forecast Accuracy.
  • Connect with technical teams to identify data tables and schemas needed for analysis. Strong understanding of ERPs, MRPs, and planning databases will be needed to determine how to prep and blend data from different systems.
  • Identify and solve process gaps that contribute to poor data quality or long lead times to update our systems.
  • Identify and drive process improvement opportunities with digital solutions to increase operational efficiency.
  • Apply business intelligence tools to communicate findings and solutions to the problems you are trying to solve.
  • Give impactful presentations and demos to acquire feedback and buy-in from project stakeholders.
  • Help train, coach, and mentor direct reports as well as business users on the latest self-service BI tools and data science concepts.

What we look for

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience delivering Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Advanced Analytics solutions
  • 3+ years in a leadership capacity
  • Proficiency in utilizing machine learning, regression, optimization, recommendation, and neural networks, among other techniques
  • Experience in creating complex SQL queries to prep and blend data
  • Strong understanding of BI tools such as Alteryx, Dataiku, QlikView, Spotfire, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Proven ability to critically think and creatively problem solve
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to influence and obtain buy-in from stakeholders when implementing a new process or change to an existing process
  • Experience connecting directly to multiple databases to extract, prep, and blend large datasets
  • Travel 10-15%

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain
  • Understanding of Integrated Business Planning, Supply Chain Operations, Quality, or Logistics
  • Expertise in Java, Python, or R
