Senior Manager, Business Systems - Salesforce
Fastly is looking for a new leader to head up the senior team members of our Go-To-Market technology including our Salesforce org and its peripheral ecosystem. Key responsibilities include leading our efforts to streamline our Lead-to-Opportunity, Quote-to-Cash, CLM, and Customer Success infrastructure. Youâll be helping to grow and mentor a team of salesforce architects, developers, admins and systems analysts, as well as handle external resources where appropriate. We expect you to develop new ideas, find new capabilities in Salesforce and our other applications, and drive their implementation and integration. You will be driving towards the goal of improving and streamlining the user experience of getting work done at Fastly.
Succeeding in this position requires you to be a results-oriented self-starter with demonstrable technical, problem-solving, and people skills. Ideal candidates enjoy becoming an authority in multiple areas and have a strong affinity for efficient processes, a well-organized database, and a passion for clean data. You should enjoy the excitement of working in a constantly evolving and growing environment while balancing your technical skills, collaborative cross-team problem solving, and ability to build and lead a team. This role is supported by the Director, GTM Business Systems.
What You'll Do
- Lead the implementation of strategic projects and the team delivering them
- Manage & develop a high-performing team through mentorship, training, and direct feedback
- Handle consultants and other external partners as well as relationships with our vendors and suppliers to drive the success of Business Systems projects
- Optimize the functions of data management, contacts, leads, campaigns, opportunities, dashboards, and reports, translating patterns of business challenges into tickets that will improve infrastructure
- Gain expert-level understanding of our core business functions including quoting, sales operations, marketing, customer support, and billing
- Participate in the development of the technology strategy and roadmaps
- Ability to triage issues as they come in to help with assignment and routing of production support needs
- Stay ahead of Salesforce releases and corresponding documentation and provide new functionalities and solutions as needed
- Participate in cross-functional teams that address strategic business issues, running steering committee meetings with executives as needed
- Ensure effective and accurate tracking and logging of Salesforce support and related report issues
- Promote and establish with the team best practices in business systems analysis, design and testing to ensure the implementation team is providing exceptional quality work that meets compliance needs and is earning trust throughout the company
- Effectively communicate with internal partners, including Fastly executives, on a regular basis regarding progress on projects, performance and potential business risks
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive experience as a Salesforce administrator, architect or developer with an additional 3+ years as a people manager
- Demonstrable strategic skills and capable of leadership
- Expert-level familiarity with Salesforce and its application ecosystem
- Ability to lead a team through large projects and technical decisions
- Ability to reasonably estimate the time for tasks and then meet deadlines set by those estimates; ability to quickly and efficiently prioritize multiple requests
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a pleasant, supportive, and customer-focused personality and the ability to work across all levels in an organization
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with focus and with the companyâs strategic goals in mind
- Must excel in a fast-paced environmentÂ
