Senior Manager -Climate Risk Analysis
Job Description
The Senior Manager for Climate Risk Analysis (CG10 A/B) will work with client companies in diverse industrial sectors and geographies to identify current and future climate-related vulnerabilities, meet disclosure requirements, and improve long-term business resilience. The Senior Manager will oversee analyst teams working on climate-related risk and opportunity screenings, detailed physical and transitional risk assessments, and financial impact modeling. The role will also involve client stakeholder engagement to facilitate the integration of the assessment findings into corporate governance, risk management, and strategic planning structures.
Working closely with ADEC's Head of Strategy and Implementation Services and other colleagues in the ADEC ESG practice, the Senior Manager will develop and refine the risk assessment methods and processes used by the delivery teams. The role will also include working with the Disclosure and Reporting Services group to ensure our risk assessment work is in line with rapidly evolving climate risk-related disclosure requirements across multiple countries and regions.
The Senior Manager will also serve as a technical mentor for mid- and junior-level team members. The role would include direct line management of some staff and technical training responsibilities for other staff.
Key Responsibilities:
As a subject matter expert, the Senior Manager for Climate Risk Analysis will:
- provide technical guidance and training to team members on risk assessment practices, methods, standards, and trends,
- supervise large, complex projects through the project cycle: kick-off, planning, design, execution, monitoring, QA, and closure.
- advise clients on their company's exposure to rapidly evolving risk assessment and disclosure requirements and how to best integrate risk and opportunity assessments into key business functions,
- assist with the development of proposals related to climate risk and opportunity assessments, and related risk mitigation or business transformation strategy,
- develop and improve our existing approaches to climate scenario analysis for both physical and transition risks and opportunities.
- perform line management responsibilities for direct reports, including conducting performance reviews and goal setting, and providing mentorship and guidance on career path development,
- contributing to the ADEC ESG practice's thought leadership, services, products, and marketing materials.
Key Requirements:
- 10+ years in a relevant risk assessment field, ideally with strong climate-related risk assessment and/or enterprise risk management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in financial modeling and/or impact assessment.
- Experience as technical and project manager in sustainability/ESG context, ideally in a consultancy environment.
- Degree, ideally at a master's level or higher, in a related field such as Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Economics, Financial Risk Management or Business Administration.
- Ability to work at and navigate all levels of an organization, driving decisions and direction through influence, including executive and senior business stakeholders.
- Highly organized with strong project management skills, interpersonal skills, and a professional presence with the ability to quickly establish personal credibility and demonstrate expertise.
- Experience in organizational change management.

Work Environment
Fast-paced and collaborative work environment. The position will entail some travel. Remote, hybrid, and in-office work settings are available.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend extended periods of time in front of a computer and/or laptop. The employee is required to have hand/finger dexterity. This role will regularly be required to talk and listen; will be expected to spend extensive time speaking with clients, staff, and vendors through phone and online programs.
