About the ANA Educational Foundation

The ANA Educational Foundation (AEF) annually manages over 300 executive speaker engagements on campuses nationwide, multiple regional marketing conferences, the MADE Internship Program, the Visiting Professor Program, an annual fundraising gala and educational content on www.aef.com. Our programs help advance the understanding of marketing and advertising on campus and provides a forum for exchanging ideas and valuable networking opportunities between top talent and leading industry organizations.

Position Summary

Reporting to the EVP, Community and Growth, the Senior Manager will be driving our Historically Black College and University (HBCUs) efforts. This is an effort to bring key stakeholders together – industry, academia, and talent – to bring more diverse talent into the industry and create meaningful relationships with HBCUs and other minority serving institutions.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities are:

  • Conference Planning and Execution – Manage two student marketing conferences per year at HBCUs (one in Raleigh, the other in Atlanta) and execute against these experiences flawlessly and position this effort to scale to additional regions in the future
  • HBCU Community Management – Grow the HBCU marketing, media, and advertising community through a series of - in person events, virtual conferences, board leadership, quarterly meetings, and social media - that drive mentorship, internship and full-time job outcomes for students and further research and teaching opportunities for professors
  • Support for Other Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Industry Efforts – Support the EVP on additional DEIB efforts such as weekly email updates, monthly reporting, and other efforts as part of the ANA DEIB Growth agenda

Qualifications

The key qualifications are:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (preferably from an HBCU) plus 5-7 years’ prior work experience at an advertising agency, marketer and/or media company
  • Event management experience in programming content, manage event logistics, and conduct post mortem on how to optimize for future planning
  • Experience in managing diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging programs
  • Analytics around synthesizing key trends and distilling down and communicating key elements to recommendations that are action oriented

Salary and Total Rewards Package:

Starting pay range: $70,000 to $80,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
