Senior Manager, Content Manager

Job Description

As a Senior Manager, Content Manager, you have the opportunity to help create and implement SmartRent’s digital marketing content strategy to drive brand awareness and target audience engagement. You will be responsible for strategizing, writing, and managing high-quality content across various channels while ensuring consistency in brand voice and messaging. In this role, you will report to our Vice President of Digital Marketing and work alongside our team in our Scottsdale, AZ headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day management of in-house content writers as well as freelance editors, agencies, and other content creators.
• Assign content projects and provide clear, consistent feedback that reinforces strengths, improves skills, and boosts copy efficacy.
• Create, publish, and optimize compelling content across multiple channels, including blogs, websites, social media, and email campaigns. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members and subject matter experts to gather insights and validate content accuracy.
• Partner with marketing leadership (communications and digital) to implement strategic content plans.
• Build and maintain a content editorial calendar and content development plan (including documentation, tracking, and production management).
• Write project briefs for our in-house content team, designers, and developers to deliver work that aligns with your content strategy goals and vision.
• Analyze content performance metrics, such as website traffic, engagement, conversion rates, and SEO rankings. Utilize data-driven insights to conduct thorough audits to determine what content should be kept, edited, rewritten, and more. 
• Monitor competitors and stay up to date on industry trends to inform content strategy.

Required Qualifications

• 5-7 years of proven experience in content marketing.
• 5+ years of experience writing content.
• Demonstrable track record of defining and executing highly effective content marketing programs.
• Excellent copywriting skills, with outstanding verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
• Outstanding planning and project management skills. 
• Team player, willing to work collaboratively/cross-functionally.
• Lifelong learner with an innate sense of curiosity.
• A passion for the user experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with our marketing tech stack. We use Google Suite, Hive, HubSpot, and Sanity.

Please note: SmartRent has a hybrid and casual work environment. We expect our team members to work on a hybrid schedule based out of our Scottsdale, AZ headquarters.
