About The RoleÂ
As the Senior Manager, Corporate Development, you will be responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of initiatives to optimize the company’s future growth and profitability, with a keen eye towards opportunities that would best align with the company’s mission and values. You will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and work with cross-functional peers. Â
This role will lead strategy and successful execution of initiatives including, but not limited to, the following:Â
- Joint-Ventures and Strategic PartnershipsÂ
- With the CFO, lead goop’s current U.S. and International joint venture projectsÂ
- Corporate OutreachÂ
- Source, evaluate and negotiate external opportunities related to M&A, strategic divestitures, spinoffs, strategic alliances, partnerships, and joint venturesÂ
- Evaluate global expansion opportunities including new market expansion, product development, and strategic partnership opportunitiesÂ
- Support sourcing of financing for future business expansion, as neededÂ
- Support execution of M&A transactions internally for smaller and private companies or brands Â
- Lead external relationships with outside advisors for transactional work, including investment banks, legal firms, transactional accountants, consultants, etc.Â
- Strategic Analysis, Competitive Benchmarking, and Business Financial ModelingÂ
- Maintain a constant pulse on what our competition is doing; lead and coordinate offensive and defensive strategies with departments to ensure Company viability Â
- Conduct buy vs. build analyses to seek solutions to current company deficiencies Â
- Perform Comparable Company financial modeling and analysesÂ
- Perform Comparable Transactions / Precedent Transactions analysesÂ
- Conduct sophisticated, multi-scenario financial and operational analyses (including ROI, IRR, NPV, Payback, merger modeling, pro-forma analysis) to support such endeavorsÂ
- Operational Excellence BenchmarkingÂ
- Monitoring and benchmarking goop’s business methods against those of other comparable companies through 1) identifying key operational metrics to track 2) conducting financials ratios and 3) implementing a continuous process of measuring products, services and practices against those of competitors or “best-in-class” companiesÂ
- Identify areas for improvement and establish product, process goals and financial goals in conjunction with cross-functional partners; conduct ROI, Payback and IRR analyses in conformity with goop mandated hurdles.Â
Qualifications & ExperienceÂ
- Top candidates will have 2-4+ years of specialized experience in Investment Banking
- Strong experience with high-impact consumer brands, multi-channel revenue streams, and/or CPG manufacturing preferredÂ
- Exceptional financial modeling and benchmarking experience requiredÂ
- Demonstrated success with financial analytics and strategic partnership-building requiredÂ
- Candidates with MBA, CFA or CPA credentials are a plusÂ
FAQ Â
- Compensation: $135,000 - $165,000 + Equity. Please note that this range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for the Los Angeles, CA based position. Goop, in good faith, reasonably expects to pay the position within this salary range. Goop provides the salary range in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, training, knowledge and skills, and if the location of the job changes.
