Alongside award-winning promotional agency services, The Marketing Store delivers global category management services to our biggest client - McDonald's. More specifically to the McDonald's Happy Meal product business. HAVI Sourcing provides similar category management services to McDonald's, among other clients, for consumer-facing packaging, uniforms and health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities
ROLE OVERVIEW
The role will support all McDonald's customers within the designated North American cluster and all associated market in regards to the development of Corrugated Packaging for Secondary Case application, Labels & Labeling equipment technology (for electronics tags, RFIDs etc..)
Provide functional (Project Management) and subject matter expertise through deeper understanding of the current secondary case use and application across customer portfolio of mixed product use across food and packaging and ensuring appropriate legislative requirements are managed in delivering the right optimized technology solutions to meet the Customer Strategy & Product Strategies.
Build and maintain supplier relationships to extract best in class material solutions for customers, both functionally and commercially.
Work cross functionally within all HAVI/TMS touch points such as Product Management, Commercial, Vendor Management, Category, Sustainability, Quality Assurance & Graphics.
Requires the ability to lead significant, multi-phase packaging development programs with a cross-functional teams including from preliminary concept development, testing and validation thru national commercialization / execution.
Responsibilities:

  • Drive for standardization on corrugated packaging sizes, materials and improve manufacturing flexibility across converting partners.
  • Lead innovation in terms of new materials, machinery for labeling & operational standards.
  • Create and maintain packaging specifications at a category level
  • Lead supply chain optimization initiatives with focus on operational efficiency, process and quality improvements
  • Establish methodology and reporting metrics to support relevant customer goals, working with independent experts and sharing best practice adopted from other markets and working in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Communicate in a timely manner to HAVI/TMS company leadership teams, work with other HAVI/TMS departments to ensure effective delivery of milestones and project execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the key stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Understand and proactively support customer business strategies.
  • Lead and assess labelling equipment technologies suitable for inline or offline application and integration to corrugated case manufacture or packing environments
  • Work through development of Product identification labeling technologies best suited for inventory management (RFIDs)
  • Develop right labelling materials with right adhesive specs & suppliers with integrated digital technologies to best meet the delivery requirements.
  • Identify & establish a strong supplier base with contingency options on both Raw Materials (Labels, Corrugated Mediums) and finished packaging supply (RFID Labels, Corrugated Cases) across the region.
  • Partner with Cluster Commercial & Product Management teams to ensure execution of the agreed market packaging plans and initiatives
  • Execute commercialization plans to ensure the product meets customer requirements and is transitioned to a continuous supply item with contingency built-in.


Desired Skills & Experience
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Required:

  • 8+ years in packaging manufacturing and/or business/packaging & equipment strategy development
  • Strong technical competencies in packaging science including knowledge of substrates, structural design and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with project management tasks and timeline development
  • Ability to connect abstract thoughts and ideas and materialize into an actionable long-term solution strategy
  • Experience working with multi-functional teams to formulate objectives and action plans
  • Analytical approach to problem solving and decision making
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • High level of collaboration and teamwork
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Packaging Technology or equivalent
  • 30-40% Travel
