Position Overview:
Raytheon Missiles and Defense is seeking a defense industry professional to coordinate business development activities and create new opportunities to drive top line growth for the Requirements and Capabilities Advanced Technology organization. Reporting directly to the Executive of the R&C AT team, while matrixed to the Director of R&C Operations and Customer Excellence you will be responsible to transmit the key messages and direction from RMD leadership to the AT R&C team. This position is often relied upon as a delegate in key internal forums and will need to constantly translate direction into action by leading, influencing and holding the team accountable to deadlines. All efforts will be in support of an annual booking plan of ~$1B.
Specific responsibilities include ensuring accurate tracking for ~500+ active pursuits in a ~$5B pipeline and use of this data to help shape the direction of the AT business portfolio moving forward. This leader must collaborate across a team of individuals to ensure the data and information is current, relevant and accurate. In order to be effective in this role, this leader must maintain an intimate knowledge of the AT portfolio and ongoing awareness of the multiple factors (customer, geopolitical, defense spending, etc.) that influences the pipeline of opportunities. This leader prepares and provides analysis that influences the direction of the AT organization and often leads and participates in high-level briefings where he/she has to respond to senior leaders who question and/or scrutinize the data, who ultimately use it to make decisions that have a significant impact to the future of RMD. The ability to plan, coordinate and execute concurrent planning of investment more than $27M/yr (Selling, B&P) is also a critical responsibility.
As a member of the Requirements and Capabilities team, you work closely with the other Business Units, Functional Business Areas, Programs and Product Area Directorates, and Business Development Executives (BDE). You will ensure collaboration and alignment of all strategies to drive customer satisfaction across the teams.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Accurate tracking of active pursuits.
- Plan, coordinate and execute concurrent planning of investment in excess of $27M/yr (Selling, B&P).
- Summary level reporting for all AT R&C reviews and meetings including the monthly AT Ops Review, AT Investment Review, RMD Ops review, AT pipeline reviews and ongoing IPDS gate reviews.
- Utilizing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, Enterprise Raytheon Pipeline Management (ERPM) tool, ensure that all of the AT R&C data is accurate, providing analysis to forecast future impacts/results, and create action plans to meet commitments. (This includes customer engagements, NBI inputs and spend plan for current year, investments for 5 YP, Rplan integration, consultant linkages, BD docs data, etc.).
- Lead by example and provide professional and technical expertise to the business development team, AT mission area, and applicable customers.
- This position offers remote flexibility but requires domestic travel based upon business demands.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
- Previous related operations or business development experience in government, defense, aerospace, or similar industry
Qualifications We Value:
- Familiarity with technology domain operations and platforms
- Experience presenting and communicating with customers and senior leadership
- Advanced Degrees such as Master's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
- Ability to be creative, innovative, take initiative, and act with speed and agility for advantage
- Relevant government and/or industry experience with an established network across government to include [insert applicable government networks]
- Strong understanding of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) acquisition processes
- Understanding of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (not sure if applies to AT or not)
- Familiarity with the business development process, investment funding process and international strategic assessment
- Familiarity with requirements generation, resource sponsors, and/or program management experience
- Previous experience with international business teaming agreements or partnerships
- Previous business development experience with industry
- Certified Program Manager (or equivalent)
- Certified Capture Manager (or equivalent)
- A current Secret US Security Clearance
