POSITION SUMMARY: The Sr. Manager, Data Management is accountable for guiding data standards and quality, governance, master data management, and compliance to drive business value and operational efficiencies. The Manager, Data Management will also be responsible for establishing data governance standards, best practices, training and support for these same initiatives.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads day-to-day enterprise data management.
  • Assists in the development and execution of overall strategy with focus on Data management including master data management, meta data management, data governance, data quality, and data observability.
  • Establishes the technical direction for the team, driving the necessary changes and making appropriate technology choices working collaboratively with business partners and architecture teams.
  • Actively participates, and provides guidance to enterprise-level data management & governance activities.
  • Ensures that project and service delivery meets commitments.
  • Researches and manages relationships with data vendors to determine technical merit, partnership opportunities, and competitive intelligence
  • Keen desire to learn, be reliable, conscientious and inquisitive.
  • Stays current on software development techniques and recommends improvements to current processes to support key initiatives.
  • Prepares and executes project plans, as required, to ensure timely and cost effective resource management.
  • Recommends audit and review systems and practices to ensure compliance with procedures, regulations and standards.
  • Responsible for the employment, promotion, associate performance evaluation, training, motivation, counseling and discipline of employees.
  • Manages competing priorities, workloads and activities to achieve multiple project objectives.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Lead, execute and deliver strategic business initiatives and operational activities for Data Management.
  • Strong background leading data governance, metadata, master data management, data architecture, data strategy, data quality, data modeling, observability, and data standards.
  • Proven track record of establishing data governance best practices, resolving business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets, and defining durable approaches related to data protection.
  • Extensive knowledge of data workflows, process flows, business or technical requirements documents, and product support documents.
  • Proven management experience leading cross-functional internal or external (e.g. vendor) teams using project lifecycle methodologies.
  • Well versed in data quality applications and tools.
  • Demonstrated skills in change management, communication at all levels.
  • Knowledge of data architecture, frameworks, standards and solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple, demanding large-scale projects; ability to work within tight deadlines.

MINIMUM QUALITIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise-level IT functions.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing large enterprise data initiatives and teams.
  • Minimum 5 years working with enterprise-grade data management, and data governance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar management role.
