Senior Manager, Digital Design & UX Implementation

The Senior Manager, Digital Design and UX Implementation will lead user experience strategy and design for Appian.com.  This role is expected to lead the design vision, strategies, and execution of Appian.com. 

We are seeking to hire an individual with experience in all aspects of user experience from setting the vision, to creating user flow and journey maps, to designing high-end prototypes, as well as experience directing and supporting web production. Reporting to the Sr Director, Digital Activation, this individual will need to efficiently execute on business priorities and designs in a fast paced environment with competing priorities, while also adding valuable front-end perspective to the implementation of UX and UI designs.

Responsibilities:

• Build  a best-in-class User Experience on Appian.com 
• Lead comprehensive user experience and design strategy for Appian.com, considering Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile experiences across multiple language sites
• Leverage reusable code components and libraries to support digital demand programs including website pages, conversion focused landing pages, and site personalization and optimization efforts.
• Make UI/UX ideas into prototypes, establish outstanding interactions from designs, construct reusable content modules and ensure code maintainability.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility regulations and requirements in the creation of designs.
• Translate UI/UX design mockups into web pages leveraging existing libraries and components  
• Creation of user flows, annotated wireframes, and clickable prototypes. 
• Develop start-to-finish responsive web assets for complex interactive HTML layouts with new and established CSS principles and attributes 
• Leverage  reusable code components and libraries for future use
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI and UX designs
• Optimize output for maximum speed and scalability
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders 

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of UI/UX Web Design experience, including marketing websites, landing pages, and content management system (CMS) integration 

• 2+ years front end development experience 
• Experience as a team lead or manager of a web team
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager 
• Experience creating A/B test and personalization activities.
• Excellent proficiency with modern web markup, including HTML and CSS 
• Good understanding of optimization best practices, SEO principles, and adherence 
•  Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud image editing tools; ability crop, resize, slice, manipulate and optimize vector and bitmap images for the web 
•  Familiarity with best practices of web design, including cross-browser issues with ability to troubleshoot and resolve bugs quickly 
• Familiarity with Web Accessibility standards
• Excellent time management and written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, rapidly changing environment 
• Willingness to learn and master new technologies and tools
