Broadcom's Central Engineering Group (CEG) is looking for an extremely well organized, articulate, self-driven, technically well versed leader who is an expert in negotiations and managing EDA tools and 3rd party IP. The Senior Manager, EDA & IP will be reporting to our Vice President of CEG. The candidate will have a small team of experts in the space of EDA tools and third party IP provisioning for Broadcom's Semiconductors Solutions Group. The candidate will work onsite at our Headquarters in San Jose, CA.

The candidate must have the ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly, multi-task efficiently and effectively, proactively deliver practical and quality solutions on-time, and work well with external and internal partners. This role will involve frequent interaction at the executive level. Strong presentation as well as written and verbal communication skills are a must.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for managing the portfolio of EDA tools and 3rd party IP that Broadcom leverages in our Semiconductors Solutions Group. This person will have a small team of experts helping with contract negotiations and management. You will also be working closely with external partners/vendors and internal teams and departments (e.g. Legal, Procurement, Compliance, etc.) Key duties will include reviewing and understanding EDA/IP contracts, driving EDA/IP vendor negotiations, leading changes in EDA tool strategy, analyzing license usage, budgeting and driving cost reductions, developing and maintaining relationships with EDA & IP suppliers, acting as the central contact for all EDA topics and escalations internally and externally, and managing & monitoring licenses to ensuring optimal utilization.

Qualifications:

The minimum engineering experience required is typically a BS degree in EE/CS with 15+ years of industry experience working with EDA tools/suppliers and/or semiconductor design automation., or an MS degree or Ph.D. degree in EE/CS with 13+ years of experience.

Comprehensive knowledge of EDA and 3rd Party IP vendors (Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens, Ansys, ARM, etc.) and their products

Deep understanding of modern digital, analog, mixed signal IC design flows and commonly used IP's

Strong analytical skills and extremely detail oriented, organized and methodical.

Many years of hands-on experience with industry standard chip design EDA tools and flows

Strong communication skills. Clear and concise. Experience in executive level commuinications.

Strong multitasking skills.

Ability to stay calm under extreme pressure.

Team player.

Able to work with minimum supervision, handle ambiguity and drive problem solving to resolution

Optimistic yet pragmatic attitude.

Able to work autonomously.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $147,000 - $245,000

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
