Senior Manager, Engineering

What we're looking for

Our team implements and maintains several services including SurveyMonkey's developer platform and app ecosystem. Our app ecosystem includes integrations with MS Teams, Zoom, Salesforce, Zendesk, PowerBI and Tableau (to name a few).

We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Public API and Integration Team. As the leader of this team, you'll work closely with various stakeholders across SurveyMonkey Core, Market Research, Platform teams within Momentive as well as external partners/services to build public APIs and integrations that amplify our customers' abilities to create, distribute, analyze and act on feedback through robust connectivity with third-party tools and data, automated workflows and action management.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for solving new and interesting problems. Your contributions will be extremely important to the success of the team through your mentorship, experience and leadership. You will continuously build and expand your own technical expertise as well as drive excellence in engineering within the team. You will report to the Senior Director of Engineering.

You will

• Hire and retain world-class talent
• Facilitate career growth for your team members through coaching, frequent feedback and providing opportunities to develop their strengths and acquire new skills.
• Work closely with various stakeholders (cross functional partners and other engineering leaders) and development team to ideate on ways to drive growth
• Be a key player in cross-team technical initiatives and own the technical aspects of software architecture and development
• Be a great ambassador and represent APIs and Integrations to the entire org
• Continuously build and expand your own technical expertise as well as drive excellence in engineering within the team

You have

• 5+ years of experience managing successful teams, a mix of employees and 3rd parties
• 12+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on backend APIs, services and integrations
• Great communication skills and the ability to work with both co-located and remote engineers and cross-functional partners
• Deep expertise in designing and building world-class public APIs and integrations
• Experience leading and shipping large-scale cross functional projects
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience with Cloud technologies, especially AWS
• Expertise with, and an excellent track record using Python/PHP/Java at scale
