We are currently looking for a Senior Manager of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) & Compliance to join the Octane Risk Governance team. This role will support Octane to proactively meet regulatory requirements while also identifying issues that may arise. Activities include advisory, training, quality testing/auditing, monitoring, reporting, and oversight. As the second line of defense, the Risk Governance team proactively partners with the business to support new and existing products and initiatives. We seek a senior level manager to support and continue to build out of the company’s Risk & Compliance program including responsibilities around our GRC/SAI360 platform, Credit Operations/Servicing support, complaints, collections, development of KRI/KPI’s, various reporting and underwriting/pricing. This role will report to the Senior Director of Risk Governance and will have an opportunity to build out new Second Line of Defense Risk & Compliance programs to support Octane as it grows.
The Senior Manager of ERM & Compliance should be familiar with Risk & Compliance responsibilities within the Financial Services industry including Risk Identification, RCSA, controls, developing reports and troubleshooting issues. They should be familiar with a GRC tool and how risks are identified and managed via a GRC platform. To be successful in this role you will possess a very strong attention to detail, collaboration with non-risk-oriented teams and help identify risk exposures including compliance and operational gaps.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners and Legal to design, implement, and support a regulatory compliant program.
- Work closely with the Servicing, Collections and Credit Ops teams to support Octane business processes, decisioning models and credit policies while ensuring compliance is properly embedded and monitored for completeness and accuracy.
- Provide risk & compliance advisory support on end-to-end processes.
- Support compliance issue management activities to ensure timely remediation of compliance risks and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure visibility into compliance risks impacting key initiatives, company growth, or business partners.
- Support the compliance management system, including policy maintenance, risk assessment, audits and exams, and other assigned responsibilities.
- Partner closely with peers to understand process risks and develop process control reporting requirements. Â
- Coordinate with Octane’s Data Team to automate control reports once built.
- Generate Risk reporting.
- Manage and designing the GRC tool incorporating Risks, Controls, Vendors, Self-identified issues and help automate and create risk reports.
- Troubleshoot the process control reporting environment, database and reports.
- Evaluate and fully understand current policies & procedures.
- Evaluate and fully understand current controls & reporting.
- Provide root cause analysis for control gaps and/or control weaknesses.
- Develop KRIs and KPIs
- Provide analytic insights regarding KRI trends.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in Risk & Compliance (Fair Lending experience preferred)
- Ability to communicate complex regulatory concepts clearly and concisely to non-compliance individuals.
- Experience working with consumer financial laws and regulations including but not limited to ECOA, TCPA, FCRA, TILA, UDAAP, FDCPA, EFTA
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across the organization and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence, motivate and lead others within a fast-paced environment.
- Industry experience within Consumer Finance, FinTech, Financial Services, or similar industries is preferred.
- 1-3 years’ experience with a GRC tool (Orion, Archer, SAI360, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with superior analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of organizational data flow and its use in management decision making and risk mitigation
- Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks.
- Strong adaptability and capacity to work in fast-paced environments.
- Detail oriented, organized, energetic and action focused.
- Strong leadership, collaboration and communication skills
- Conflict resolution/management skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of process quality assurance assessment and risk control/management
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint Skills
Compensation: The role described above offers a base salary of $100,000 to $135,000. Your offer will be based on the alignment of your qualifications with the requirements of the job and internal equity. In addition to the above-mentioned salary, Total Rewards include a stock option package, and benefits as outlined below.
