Job Description

Position Goals:

Manage and control all activities related to public filings (10-K, 8-K and 10-Q and associated XBRL) and regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with applicable Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) rules and regulations and United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the filing of all SEC forms (10-K, 8-K and 10-Q and associated XBRL) and ensure compliance with SEC rules and regulations and US GAAP.

    1. Lead and coordinate the completeness and accuracy of supporting detailed documentation and related disclosures for SEC filings.
    2. Manage the data collection, aggregation, validation, and greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting calculation.
  2. Prepare quarterly Audit Committee material, including addressing questions and comments by the Audit Committee related to SEC filings.
  3. Lead the review, impact analysis and implementation of new and upcoming accounting guidance, including disclosure requirements, issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and SEC.
  4. Work with the external auditors and take responsibility for relevant audit requests related to SEC filings.
  5. Work with the Controller and the accounting team to develop and maintain efficient processes and communication during the period end close and audit.
  6. Assist and support the quarterly earnings release workstream and other internal reporting processes.
  7. Manage special projects as they arise and always seek to improve processes and methods with the underlying goal of simplification and efficiency.
  8. Provide supervision and guidance to direct report(s):

    1. Develop objectives and action plans in support of organizational strategy and goals.
    2. Lead and motivate staff.
    3. Oversee training plan and continued education.
    4. Coach subordinates relative to performance and/or behavioral concerns.

Position Requirements:

Education - Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field.

Experience - A minimum of eight (8) years of SEC reporting experience.

Other - Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Preferred Requirements:

Strong understanding of financial reporting under US GAAP.

Strong research skills.
