TITLE: Senior Manager for Procurement – Personal Care and Grooming
REPORTING TO: SVP, Operations
PREFERRED LOCATION: UNITED STATES, EXCEPT HAWAII AND ALASKA
Role Overview:Â
Reporting to the SVP of Operations, this role will be responsible for building and managing strategic partnerships with domestic and global contract manufacturers to achieve an optimal balance of value, quality, and speed to market for Foundry’s portfolio of brands. Given Foundry’s focus on Personal Care & Grooming, you will stand out if your experience is related to this particular category. You will manage a global team of procurement and freight managers overseeing all procurement, production management, and global freight activities. You will also be responsible for establishing a quantitative category management framework as it relates to procurement, including market intelligence, e-sourcing tools, contract management, benchmarking metrics, suppliers’ performance management frameworks and effective reporting for all procurement related initiatives.
Responsibilities:Â
Purchasing: You will oversee all elements of Foundry’s purchasing operations, inclusive of establishing best-in-class processes and tools, building KPIs related to product cost management and transparency around pricing, and leading all negotiation initiatives with suppliers. You will also closely partner with Foundry’s finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting related to purchasing activities via our ERP, Netsuite.Â
Production Management: You will be the main escalation point for all production-related issues, both with domestic and global vendors. Through daily and weekly meetings with key vendors, you will manage lead times, establish robust QA/QC processes, and will be held accountable for ensuring a smooth, on-time production process of quality finished goods. Â
Supplier/Vendor Management: Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable, cost-effective, and operationally efficient flow of goods from manufacturing floor to warehouse. You will oversee and manage existing suppliers, which includes establishing clear metrics for their performance while driving improvements on cost, quality, and production lead times.Â
Global Mile Logistics: You will lead the global inbound shipments planning, execution and delivery as well as ensure flow of information is fully visible in different systems and stakeholders (Inventory Planning, Purchasing, Distribution & Omni Channel Fulfilment) to ensure the right quantity of goods is delivered on time at the right cost to the right location You will manage a team of Global Mile Logistics leads and provide guidelines for their day-to-day operations including: shipments execution, training on internal SOPs and all changes in global trade compliance requirements.Â
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or industrial engineering, and an MBA will be a plus.
- 10 years’ experience in contract manufacturing of a wide range of consumer products i.e. global manufacturing, retail or e-ecommerce organizations across several geographies including Asia-Pacific and US. At least 5+ years experience, specifically, managing personal care, skincare, and grooming manufacturing partners
- Player/coach mentality with exceptional analytical ability, 5+ years managing people/teams and strong creative problem-solving: adept at coming up with creative solutions to production challenges while maintaining a positive and professional attitude with suppliers
- Experience working cross-functionally and/or in matrixed organizations
- A self-starter comfortable in fast paced, highly complex supply chain environments
- Operator at heart with a bias towards action
- Possesses exceptional attention to detail and the ability to zoom out and place challenges/opportunities into a greater business context
- Comfortable operating with messy data and incomplete information – but strives for data-based decision making backed by analytical rigor
- Passionate about empowering teams of people to make decisions, developing strong standardized processes, and leveraging technology to run effective supply chains serving a growth minded organization
