Job Description

About Clear Street:

Clear Street is building modern infrastructure for capital markets. Founded in 2018 by industry veterans, Clear Street is an independent, non-bank prime broker designed to solve the industry’s most neglected problem: legacy technology.

We have built a proprietary, cloud-native, clearing and custody system to replace the legacy infrastructure used across capital markets, improving speed, access, and service for our clients. Today, we offer emerging managers and institutions everything they need to trade U.S. equities and options. In the future, our single-source platform will serve multiple investor types, across multiple asset-classes, on a global scale.

By combining highly-skilled product and engineering talent with seasoned finance professionals, we’re building the essentials to compete in today’s fast-paced markets.

The Team:

We're looking to add a Senior Manager, FP&A who will act as a foundational member of Clear Street’s rapidly growing Finance team. This individual brings strong analytical skills as a strategic partner to Finance leadership and work directly with a number of senior leaders at the firm including the CFO, and other key stakeholders across the business, operations and legal functions. In this role, you're an integral part of Clear Street’s growth strategy; enabling business leaders to scale our technology, expand existing markets, and build new capabilities. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being challenged and will thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.

You Will:

  • Be a trusted finance thought partner to cross-functional leaders, including the C-Suite, and drive process automation to yield timely and useful insights about the business
  • Lead the financial modeling and forecasting process with top-down and bottom-up methods
  • Work cross-functionally with business and accounting leaders to track operational and financial KPIs
  • Own and execute internal and external reporting related to FP&A
  • Evaluate and provide strategic insights to growth and operational initiatives including expense management and headcount investment
  • Report to the CFO and help the Finance team scale and improve its processes supporting the growth strategy of Clear Street

Requirements:

  • ~8-10 years of relevant FP&A experience, ideally with some experience having been in a high-growth startup
  • Experiences with financial statements and building financial models from both revenue and expense perspectives
  • Significant prior experience analyzing P&L and financial data and managing large data sets
  • Clear and effective organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • A blend of curiosity, analytical thinking, creativity, adaptability and a relentlessness to drive projects to completion
  • Proactive, solutions-first thinker who is action-oriented and continuously seeks process improvements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities while staying flexible, organized, and humble along the way
  • Relevant brokerage industry experience, specifically Prime Brokerage a major plus

We offer:

  • The opportunity to join a small and growing team of good people, where you can make a difference.
  • An environment that champions collaboration and prioritizes pragmatic solutions to complex problems.
  • Work that is fast paced, intellectually challenging, and most of all, profoundly rewarding.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and perks.

The Base Salary Range is $165,000 - $185,000. These ranges are representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Clear Street. Which range a candidate fits into and where a candidate falls in the range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. These ranges represent Base Salary only, which is just one element of Clear Street's total compensation. The ranges stated do not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses or equity.

At Clear Street, we offer competitive compensation packages, company equity, 401k matching, gender neutral parental leave, and full medical, dental and vision insurance. Our belief has always been that we are better as a business when we are all together in person. As such, beginning on January 2, 2023, we are requiring employees to be in the office 4 days per week. In-office benefits include lunch stipends, fully stocked kitchens, happy hours, a great location, and amazing views.

Our top priority is our people. We’re continuously investing in a culture that promotes collaboration. We help each other through challenges and celebrate each other's successes. We believe that modern workplaces succeed by virtue of having high-performance workforces that are diverse — in ideas, in cultures, and in experiences. We put in the effort to make such a workplace a daily reality and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
