Who we are & why we’re hiring

Twilio powers real-time business communications and data solutions that help companies and developers worldwide build better applications and customer experiences.

Although we're headquartered in San Francisco, we have presence throughout South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. We're on a journey to becoming a globally anti-racist, anti-oppressive, anti-bias company that actively opposes racism and all forms of oppression and bias. At Twilio, we support diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business. We employ thousands of Twilions worldwide, and we're looking for more builders, creators, and visionaries to help fuel our growth momentum.

About the job

Twilio is seeking a Senior Manager, FP&A to join our Go-To-Market (“GTM”) Finance team, supporting Sales, Success and Marketing teams in the Twilio Data & Applications Business Unit. This will be a highly visible role, helping to guide the Go-To-Market Forecast and reporting on core financial metrics. You'll lead our GTM business partnering team and partner with the GTM teams of the Data & Applications BU to forecast headcount and expenses, model the financial impacts of investment strategies, and recommend revenue maximizing initiatives. Additionally, you’ll collaborate across the FP&A team to craft the consolidated P&L, implement process improvements, conduct budget vs actual analysis, and complete other ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Be responsible for understanding the core drivers of a GTM P&L, enabling and supporting GTM teams financial forecasting and analysis. Deep dive into metrics and data to deliver actionable large-scale analyses.
  • Lead a team that is building, and maintaining predictive and other ad-hoc models to support business decisions.
  • Have strong intellectual curiosity to partner with teams throughout the business to understand the available data and existing models that can be leveraged. Help operationalize and support implementation of various processes across the business.
  • Partner with GTM leaders to understand the core levers of our business and to identify revenue maximizing initiatives.
Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

Required:

  • Combination of 8+ years experience in FP&A and investment banking, private equity or venture capital (technology or SaaS experience preferred)
  • Excels at juggling multiple priorities, is eager to make an impact on the business, and motivated and able to collaborate across cross-functional teams to tackle complex problems.
  • Intense curiosity about understanding key drivers of a multi-faceted business.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - numbers are key, but a business is built with people. Cross-functional relationships and effective communication to non-financial audiences are critical to make an impact
  • Desire to build predictive and other ad-hoc models.
  • Elite Excel skills - your models are efficient, scalable and intuitive. You can handle complexity but strive for simplicity, and are able to build for all audiences. Best practices are second nature
  • Solution-oriented - able to cut through the noise to identify the core components of a problem, and then drive toward an outcome that optimizes for business impact.

Desired:

  • Experience working cross functionally with partners on GTM and GTM Operations
