This position is for the FP&A senior manager within the Sensor Systems division of the Avionics Strategic Business Unit (SBU) of Collins Aerospace. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work with cross functional teams. In addition to leading a team/staff of finance professionals, this position provides decision support to senior leaders within the Sensors division on a regular basis. This position will support a business that has numerous customers in both commercial and military market channels. This position reports to the Associate Director and Controller for Sensor Systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This position will provide financial support for matters related to the Sensors site that is headquartered in Burnsville, Minnesota.
  • Hybrid and Remote work arrangements are a potential option for this position. Some level of periodic travel to the site is required as this position will lead a team of 5 finance professionals based out of Burnsville, Minnesota.
  • Provide financial decision support to business leaders and value stream functions at the Sensors division.
  • Support key cost elements of the financial forecast, including Annual Operating Plans, monthly forecast reviews, and long-range financial plans.
  • Manage critical finance activities that support the business plan of the organization, including cost reporting, revenue recognition, financial closing processes, capital, and audits for the Sensors business.
  • Communicate risks, opportunities, and overall plans for achieving financial targets.
  • Lead special projects and process improvements, including matters related to the financial integration of the Sensors division into the Avionics strategic business unit.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder
  • Financial leadership experience in the aerospace/defense industry
  • Experience in financial and management accounting, cost accounting and controls, engineering development programs, financial modeling, scenario analysis
  • Experience in reviewing Estimates at Completion (EACs)
  • Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis - LRP, SRO, AOP
  • Sound critical thinking, problem identification, and problem-solving skills
  • Guide several direct reports - responsible for organization alignment, performance, and personnel growth / career advancement
  • Professional leadership skills and the ability to develop relationships with others, including senior management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft resources (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to achieve critical deadlines with quality results

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Broad understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion
  • Interact effectively with senior leadership as a hands-on leader who can cut across multiple functions within a highly matrixed organization, building trust and influencing strategic decisions
