As a Senior Manager, Health Care Professional (HCP) Speaker Events Lead supporting US Vison Care, you will be trusted to partner with Vision Care Brand, Sales, and Professional Affairs leaders to develop and execute an annual HCP promotional speaker event plan (including dinner meetings, Practitioner visits to Alcon, multi-focal road shows, etc.). This Senior Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of our Key Opinion Leader (KOL) speaker roster, speaker training, budget management of speaking events along with the adherence to all legal and compliance requirements.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Serving as a strategic HCP business partner to USVC stakeholders, responsible for helping the business identify priority HCP messaging and building out annual HCP speaker plan to drive HCP awareness, confidence, and recommendations of our priority contact lens & OTC products
  • Developing curriculum & training, focusing on the technical education of professionals that sell and recommend Alcon Vision Care products to ensure correct usage for long term business and market growth for the profession and the practice
  • Serving as the primary point of contact to KOLs and speaker roster
  • Maintaining strong relationships with speakers on behalf of Alcon and ensuring timely payment of speakers. This includes evaluation of new roster members, periodic assessment and re-evaluation of existing speakers, and gathering feedback on speakers from internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing the multi-million-dollar promotional event budget across a variety of event types: Practitioners Visiting Alcon (PVA), dinner meetings, multi-focal CL roadshows, congress events, etc.
  • Establishing and tracking Key Performance Indicators to ensure optimization of program and results, continuously improving Return on Investment
  • Driving simple and efficient processes, ensuring adherence to Alcon compliance guidelines and US laws related to payments to HCPs
  • Working effectively with Field Sales and Strategic Account Sales teams on event scheduling, logistics, and implementation as needed
  • Ensuring KOL roster is effectively trained on Alcon portfolio, fitting guidelines, clinical data, etc.
  • Coordinating with any external third parties required to execute promotional speaking events
  • Managing and developing one direct report

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 5 Years of Demonstrated Leadership

Travel Requirement: 30-40% domestic travel

Preferred Experience:

  • Vision Care experience preferred
  • Strong ability to foster and maintain relationships with health care professionals (HCPs)
  • Ability to operate with an enterprise mindset and make effective tradeoffs across internal stakeholders to do what's best for the business
  • Advanced clinical / technical expertise in area of contact lenses and OTC eye care products
  • Strong project management and budget management skills
  • Proficient in MS Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
  • Familiarity with major US vision care customers and key channels
  • Outstanding presentation & communication skills
  • Ability to effectively lead, coach and develop a direct report
