Position Summary:Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, ON’s Senior Manager, Human Resources will play a critical role in supporting our efforts to hire best-in-class talent and craft and implement new and impactful talent and people operations initiatives.
As a key member of the People Operations Team, the Senior Manager, Human Resources will lead recruitment and selection processes to secure high-quality and diverse talent for ON. In addition, the Senior Manager will be critical in identifying, creating, and maintaining strategic partnerships with key organizations and external partners to establish and expand talent pipelines with a lens towards identifying and cultivating diverse candidate pools. The Senior Manager will also develop hiring resources that mitigate bias in recruitment and selection processes.Â
The Senior Manager will build and implement training, learning & development initiatives that enhance manager and staff knowledge, skills, and abilities to support our evolving organizational needs including manager development, coaching, onboarding, succession planning, and career progression. A strategic thought partner to the Director, the Senior Manager will help with the design and execution of initiatives to define and refine ON’s organizational culture and employee development.Â
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Human ResourcesÂ- Partner with the Director to design and implement strategic initiatives that help define and refine organizational priorities across employee engagement, performance management, and talent planning and recruitment
- Lead development of recruitment practices including: evaluation tools and assessment procedures to ensure that all managers are equipped with the necessary resources to adeptly hire a high-performing diverse team
- Serve as a thought partner across the organization to support leadership, hiring managers, and broader staff around strategic recruitment, professional development, and broader people operations efforts across ONÂ
- Co-manage the design planning and execution of staff events and meetings in partnership with internal and external stakeholders and vendorsÂ
- Create processes and systems that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the People Operations functionÂ
- Champion ON’s culture and embodies ON’s values of boldness, connection, curiosity, integrity, and respectÂ
- Advances and centers DEI within the frameworks of our work and culture in an effort to foster an open, reflective, and inclusive culture of belonging
- Partner collaboratively with the executive team (ET), DEI Council, and staff in the execution of DEI target goals and outcomes toward becoming an anti-racist organization
- Help coach and guide the ON team to achieve ambitious outcomes to ensure ON has the people and processes it needs to be successful and drive impactÂ
- Establish and manage effective communications processes to share timely, targeted, and audience-appropriate communications to all levels of the organization
- A minimum of 7 years human resources management experience in a complex fast-paced role; previous supervisory experience preferred
- Brings a balanced combination of collaboration and independence, is a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who enjoys crafting and implementing new insights while deeply listening to others
- Strong project management skills with a high detail-orientation and a demonstrable track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of initiatives concurrently
- Ability to synthesize data, identify trends, and make balanced, objective recommendations in a proactive manner
- Exceptional relationship building skills, a strong awareness of the motivations of others, and with the flexibility and finesse to build and maintain collaborative relationships, internally and externally, for the long term
- High-degree of cultural competence and the ability to create frameworks and systems that can coach and train up the cultural competency of ON staffÂ
- High energy, maturity, and leadership that serves as a unifying force to position people and culture discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels
- Diligent listener and effective communicator with outstanding written and verbal skills and the ability to adapt approach among diverse audiences; demonstrates an ability to influence collaborators in the interest of meeting organizational goals and values
- Leans into creative thinking, brings a solutions orientation to problem-solving, and has the ability to brainstorm multiple solutions while weighing differing priorities
While we are currently working in a hybrid capacity, this position will be based out of our Washington DC (preferred) or Redwood City (CA) offices.Â
Compensation and Benefits:This is a full-time, salaried position that features competitive pay and benefits, including health care (e.g. medical/dental/vision), paid time off, and a generous employer 401(k) contribution. The salary will be $176,000 in the DMV (i.e. Washington DC, Maryland or Virginia) and $195,500 in Redwood City, CA. Candidates must have a current valid U.S. work authorization to be considered.
