Job Summary
The Senior Human Resources Manager partners with the Director, Human Resources, to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans for Avient's human resources services, policies, and programs. This position guides decision making processes and positively impacts the results of the organization by recruiting, retaining, developing and rewarding the industry's best talent in a manner that is cost-efficient and compliant. This position completes multiple and/or large projects to lead the development, enhancement, and innovation of Avient's Human Resources Department. The Senior Human Resources Manager has project management and performance management responsibilities for their group.
Essential Functions
• Ensures that all safety procedures are followed and observed and checks, corrects and/or reports potential unsafe conditions during site visits via proper safety protocols
• Manages complex responsibility for specific areas including but not limited to employee relations, areas outside of human resources (i.e. EH&S), larger business units, global duties, etc.
• Participates on a business unit management team, or manages multiple duties within human resources (i.e. recruitment, employee development, etc.)
• Works with the Director, Human Resources and respective client groups to design organization structure, business process and systems that support their strategic goals
• Works to create a high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce
• Guides managers in areas such as benefits, compensation, training, recruiting, workforce planning, conflict management, performance management, etc.
• Ensures that all policies and procedures are in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and are consistently administered
• Responsible for operational human resource issues including job description development, hiring, retention, succession planning, legal compliance, termination reviews, transfers and communications
• Oversees human resources responsibility for all assigned business unit teams and shared service functions
• Implements short and long terms plans to ensure performance and innovation within Avient's Human Resources department
• Proactively suggests and promotes processes that have positive return on investment and deliver value to internal and external customers
• Monitors key metrics (i.e. turnover, attendance, etc.) to assist the location and/or functional area in effectively managing their workforce to maximize productivity and overall effectiveness
• Demonstrates solid business acumen and ability to make HR decisions that ensure a positive impact on the bottom line
• Creates a motivational environment of accountability
• Fosters teamwork at all levels and cross-functionally
• Acts as a catalyst for change with the ability to positively influence others to make difficult decisions
• Job duties require interaction and presentations with VP/GMs or Sr. VPs -- must be able to interact with the highest levels within the company
• Performs other projects as required by the business, functional unit and/or HR organization
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related discipline
• 5-7 years' experience as a human resources generalist , including interviewing, performance management, HRIS systems and leading others

Scope
This position supports a US Business Unit, including direct partnership with the BU General Manager and his staff, including several functions as Marketing, Manufacturing (with several manufacturing sites), Sales, R&D, among others. This position supports mainly US associates, but will also potentially act as the global HR liason for the Avient Design team. This position will be based in Avon Lake (Cleveland area), OH and will require travel between the various US locations for the BU, among other travel for meetings.

• Requires standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time, talking and listening

• Will visit manufacturing sites and be required to walk the manufacturing floor
