As a Walmart Senior Engineering Manager I, you will dig into our mammoth scale of data to help unleash the power of retail data science by imagining, developing, and maintaining data pipelines that our Data Scientists and Analysts can rely on . You should be a responsive team player who can proactively contribute for building technical strategies for applications and systems by promoting an understanding of the technology and business roadmap. You will partner with Data Scientists, Analysts, other engineers and business stakeholders to solve complex and exciting challenges so that we can build out capabilities that evolve the retail business model while making a positive impact on our customers' lives. You'll make an impact by:

• Lead a team of engineers to build and end to end solution to for data subject request
• Build, develop and guide high-performing talent. Define a long term talent strategy cutting across technology. Provide supervision, mentoring and development opportunities for the team who report into you.
• Help define Technical Roadmap and own the entire product delivery end to end.
• Work very closely with various business stakeholders to drive the execution of multiple business plans and technologies.
• Technical Leadership: Drive high-level architectural decisions and designs based on business priorities and requirement
• Improve, optimize and identify opportunities for efficient software development processes
• Handle budget planning, spend and tracking for your area of responsibility. The budget will be across headcount and 3rd party contractors.
• Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
• Combining a sense of urgency and expert knowledge of data structures to solve and enhance complex computing performance challenges, so that we can optimize and scale algorithms

• Identifying, developing and delivering improvements on data performance, data quality and cost
• Staying current through continual research and application of new, effective data engineering techniques and best practices from across industries
• Being a passionate adopter and ambassador for data governance practices and process

• You're an inquisitive, out-of-the box thinker who's continually on the lookout for opportunities to improve and innovate data systems and analytic solutions

• You have consistently high standards, your passion for quality is inherent in everything that you do
• You are a collaborative connector who builds bridges between teams and functions
• You evangelize an extremely high standard of code quality, system reliability, and performance
• You have a proven track record coding with Java/Scala programming languages
• Excellent Working knowledge on Play Framework, HTTPS / REST concepts.
• Good exposure on parallel processing / HPC
• Knowledge on BigData / message processing frameworks like Kafka etc.
• Build / Deployment expertise in Kubernetes or Data clusters.
• Exposure to various testing mechanisms in parallel processing env including unit, integration & stress testing.
• Exposure to DR / HA in data clusters.
• Excellent working knowledge on team and people management aspects.
