About E xtended Reality Team
The Extended Reality team leverages the advances in technology around Augmented Reality, Computer vision . Leverage these technologies
As the Walmart Voice Commerce team we are building completely new capabilities to allow our customers to shop by seamlessly interacting with their connected devices using spoken language. This team is part of the Emerging tech organization and will build new voice experiences both in-house and in collaboration with strategic partners. Voice as a medium for shopping is still in its infancy and as part of this team you will get to work on industry leading solutions and be at the forefront of this emerging platform.
Responsibilities:

• Hire, mentor and lead by influence a world class group of engineers to build a highly engaged in-house platform and products that operate at Walmart-scale
• Inculcate the culture and values of growth mindset, technical entrepreneurship, design thinking, engineering excellence, data first approach and innovation
• Role model for behaviors such as - being data intensive while taking everyday decisions, approach everyday problems with scientific temperament and rigor, having customer-first mind-set, maintaining highest standards for operational and engineering excellence
• Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community
• Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver awesome products
• Guide engineering roadmaps for the team and help transition our product to use next-gen technologies
• Work with other technical leaders to ensure our coding and development processes are scaling and evolving with modern development practices

Minimum Qualifications:

• B S/ M S in Computer Science or related field
• 12+ years of Backend platform experience
• 8+ years of programming experience in Java, Python or C++
• 3+ years of experience in using ARKit / ARCore and Core Vision/ML Kit
• Deep understanding of various aspects of Backend Development
• Experience in integrating with REST based backend services
• Experience in working with large code bases and effectively driving large projects
• Experience in mentoring engineers and influencing other engineers across the organization
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Good problem-solving attitude and analytical skills
• Experience with designing distributed systems
• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as GCP, Azure or AWS

Preferred Additional Skills :

• Experience in building Augmented Reality applications using Unity or other AR SDK's
• Experience with Mixed Reality/Virtual Reality( Holo Lens, Gear, Occulus , Vive , Rift..)
• Experience in using 3D Model ling tools such as Maya , Blender
• Experience in Game Design, 3D modelling, 3D Computer Graphics is a plus
