Purpose

Connect and localize the brand across Retail and Grassroots (Sports and Community) experiences in Los Angeles.

Key Accountabilities

  • Partner with Retail Marketing to create and implement an experiential strategy to build community and connection around adidas owned retail stores in NYC/LA.
    • DTC Retail team to receive briefs about driving traffic, sales, membership
    • Experience team to receive briefs about brand driving initiatives - events, appearances, etc.
  • Create and lead experiential strategy for Grassroots Sports and Community moments in NYC/LA
  • Build and maintain relationships with key community members and city officials.
  • Build and manage an in-market experiential calendar for NYC/LA.
  • Build and manage a localized Culture Moments calendar for Brand Comms & Planning to leverage as a tool when building activation plans.
  • Partner with Strategic Planning & Brand Health to identify and track the following metrics on a quarterly basis
    • Competitor landscape (recent activations, product launches, OOH, purpose driven initiatives, etc)
    • Consumer and cultural trends in NYC/LA
  • Act as localized filter for brand and category experiential briefs and Purpose plans
    • Brand Comms & Planning or Purpose shares activation plans, your role is to provide feedback and serve up potential in-market opportunities through a localized lens.
  • Manage M4 role that is responsible for adidas Runners operations and KPI tracking.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in Brand Management, campaign activation and PR/communications, gained through operational and strategic exposure
  • Deep functional knowledge and experience in experiential marketing
  • Deep understanding of the marketplace and community in NYC/LA
  • Experience in retail industry is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization with experience in influencing cross-functionally and cross-culturally
  • Strong leadership and managerial skillls
  • Strong interpersonal skills (e.g. communication, negotiation)
  • Strong methodological skills (e.g. business planning, strategic development)
  • Mental flexibility, initiative and determination
  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal guidance.
  • Ability to manage up to effectively communicate information and raise concerns or request for support.
  • Ability to travel by aircraft domestically as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree
  • Business: minimum 5 years' experience
  • Functional: minimum 5 years experiential/consumer marketing experience
  • Leadership: minimum 5 years in management
  • Cross-functional experience, ideally with marketing field

  • The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is ($94,300-$117,900). Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate's experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, and proficiency for the role.
  • We officially returned to office in a hybrid work environment, working 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The working location of this position is Los Angeles, CA.
  • Though our teammates hail from all corners of the world, our working language is English.
