Senior Manager, Intercompany and Transfer Pricing - (M5)

The Sr Manager of Intercompany Tax and Transfer Pricing will be a member of our Corporate Tax Team and will report to the Global Transfer Pricing Managing Director. You will be responsible for all aspects of Transfer Pricing operations at Applied as well as supporting various income tax and non-income tax-related projects. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising and reviewing the work of the Manager, Transfer Pricing and other junior staff. You will also lead and work with external tax advisors. You will interact both with members of the Tax Team as well as other teams at Applied, such as Finance, Treasury, Accounting, and Legal. As such, you must be able to communicate complex tax concepts in ways that are relevant and useful to non-tax professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Tax planning - Liaise with the Tax planning group on a wide range of projects
• Partner with business leaders, tax, finance, treasury, legal and external advisors on inter-company matters and partner with regional tax/finance to develop strategies and solutions for transfer pricing risk mitigation and global dispute resolution
• Monitor and analyze existing and proposed tax legislation, model the impact of changes on the Applied's tax and operational structure
• Support M&A projects including post-acquisition integration and related business operational changes
• Provide support for transfer pricing audits and related controversy
• Review transfer pricing compliance requirements for the US and various local countries, including transfer pricing documentation, various intercompany disclosure forms, and country-by-country reporting and ensuring timeliness, completeness, and accuracy
• Responsible for the transfer pricing aspects of tax provision and reporting, including financial forecast, intercompany calculations, ASC 740 / FIN48 analysis and documentation, and working closely with tax reporting and FP&A teams to support the quarterly financial reporting requirements
• Refine, review and ensure implementation, and maintain ALL aspects of Applied's transfer pricing operational requirements including all relevant calculations, accounting, documentations, policies, and procedures.

Key qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration with 7+ years of relevant experience
• Ability to evaluate key business challenges and direct the development of new or innovative solutions.
• Extensive knowledge of transfer pricing technical rules (e.g US -482, OECD and local transfer pricing laws) and relevant technical accounting knowledge
• Understanding of US international tax rules and international tax concepts
• Excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of working with cross-functional business leaders to achieve challenging objectives
• Ability to act as advisor to a variety of business partners
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and take the necessary steps to validate assumptions
• Excels at working as part of a team and collaborating with colleagues
• Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel preferred

The position can be either in Santa Clara or in Austin. A hybrid set up of three days a week in the office will suffice.

U.S. Salary Range:

$136,000.00 - $187,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
