Job Description Summary

The Senior Manager Inverter Architect works to define product architectures, requirements and delivers functional integration of mechanical and electrical systems within electric and hybrid vehicle applications. Projects are complex, requiring cross-disciplinary integration and a wide application of concepts. Manage a team to review customer requirements and Drive for results.

Job Description

  • Study and understand interactions between traction inverter and other powertrain subsystems by modeling and validation.
  • Design and document towards technical robustness such as Worst Case Analysis, Circuit Simulations, DFMEA, Functional Safety Analysis
  • Coordinating design development efforts with global teams for global program support.
  • Meet Timing, Cost, Quality, and Performance (Requirements) targets.
  • Support risk management.
  • Plan & track milestones tied to EE Sub-Systems Engineering activities.
  • Supports various technical reviews throughout the product development cycle; prepare technical presentations to various stakeholders.
  • Compiles reports and completes documentation to track and facilitate the product development process.
  • Coordinates the testing and validation of product designs; gains prototype and part approval.

Required Skills and Education

  • 7+ years OEM / Tier One Automotive experience
  • BSME and/or BSEE or Master Degree preferred or Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronics.
  • Knowledge of power electronics layout for MOSFET inverters.
  • Knowledge of designing and architecting the gate drivers for MOSFET inverters.
  • Knowledge of designing and sizing capacitor bank and signal filters.
  • Hands-on experience to construct and debug prototype hardware including soldering and other prototyping techniques.
  • Knowledge of mechatronic systems and driveline components.
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
