Overview:

The IT Operations Manager oversees the base foundations that provides secure and resilient computing platforms and consistent delivery services. Balancing between infrastructure that is on-premises versus cloud-as-a-Service with appropriate execution is a key function required from the role. Flexibility and solution-oriented approach is a cornerstone in partnering with internal stakeholders and seeing requests through to completion. The Operations Manager is responsible for supporting corporate IT strategies and deploying the technology selected to help meet those goals. Strong financial overview / forecasting and partnership with corporate teams is required to help make successful outcomes. Day-to-day activities include guiding direct reports, supervising their work and taking corrective actions when necessary. Providing support and guidance to executive reporting lines and C-Level assistance.

Responsibilities:
  • Daily management of IT staff ensuring adequate staff coverage and completion of standard operational tasks (log reviews, backups, ticket reviews, checklists, etc.)
  • Implement and manage a standard IT service management framework
  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure activities at all sites are properly communicated
  • Monitor enterprise for service and system outages and communicate issues to management and end-users. Coordinate service restoration when necessary
  • Provide end-user communication for service outages, system upgrades, service improvements, service implementation, and service retirements.
  • Ensure escalated service requests are handled in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and collaborate operational activities and projects with all IT teams
  • Coordinate system upgrades and software deployments across IT teams.
  • Lead capacity planning
  • Identify areas for process improvements and implement improvements


Key Performance Indicators:
  • Go-Lives and support patching schedules with minimal / no business disruptions
  • 3rd Party managed services management and tracking - ensure deliverables are within defined contract parameters
  • Define and deploy yearly Infrastructure refresh
  • Weekly and Monthly KPI dashboards identifying:
  • Outage tracking - any compute or service delivery that has measurable unavailability
  • Multi-year forecasting schedules for asset lifecycle management
  • Cyber threat remediation and prevention activities
  • On budget: ability to manage and deliver projects within the approved budget
  • On time: ability to manage and deliver projects within the time plan
  • No disruptions: ability to manage and deliver projects without impacting business operations


Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related discipline
  • Excellent global acumen to thrive in an international environment
  • Minimum of 10 years of related IT operations experience in IT solution and service delivery working in a significant operational leader. Minimum of 13 years of related experience if no degree
  • Expert knowledge of IT standards and methodologies
  • Working knowledge of Agile solution delivery
  • Experience delivering service in a cloud (AWS, Azure, private cloud, etc.), hosted, and hybrid environment
  • Experience managing to and achieving contractual SLAs
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple simultaneous projects and work across all levels in the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow, MS Technology, & Tools, MS Windows server platforms, Linux, AIX, SAP and major cloud service providers
  • Proven experience in Service Management (ITSM) and/or ITIL.
  • Excellent, hands-on technical knowledge and experience working in an enterprise infrastructure and applications environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of current technologies employed in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring tools
  • Experience in creating reports and analysis using ServiceNow.
  • Domain expertise with IT security is desirable
  • A high degree of creativity and "out-of-the-box" thinking
  • Ability to think broadly and strategically, balanced with high attention to detail.
  • Able to execute on multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced environments.
