Senior Manager - ITS
Job Description
The primary function of this position is to directly manage one or more Information Technology teams of technical, analytical and development staff members responsible for the organization's applications, infrastructure, and software development.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day management functions to support and promote development staff and team structure, ensuring accountability of staff, providing guidance, resolving conflicts, and acting as a business interface to better position the team to succeed.
- Meets with business leaders to develop and prioritize IT backlog, perform periodic reviews, and provide weekly staff updates.
- Sets and monitors project timelines and makes adjustments as necessary, address team impediments, tracks and provides progress reports to upper management.
- Work with business owners to determine and justify appropriate staffing levels considering demand and business benefit.
- Provides supervision to managers, team members, assigns projects and follows up on assigned projects.
- Works directly to ITS Leadership to help formulate and implement policies and procedures related to application, system and service quality standards and performance.
- Negotiates with IT vendors to provide necessary software, hardware, and services for certain projects.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
- Timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift as determined by supervisory personnel.
Qualifications:
- Excellent supervision skills.
- Excellent planning and development skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- The ability to provide sound judgement, creativity and latitude.
- The ability to travel occasionally to customer sites or remote locations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related field or equivalent experience required.
- Five year's of experience in IT leadership role.
- Transportation/Logistics knowledge experience preferred.
