Position Overview

The Autodesk People and Places Organization (PPL) is transforming the Learning and Talent Management team. We have an opportunity for a Sr. Manager, Leadership Development to join our team and be responsible for designing and developing effective content, curriculum and strategies for enterprise-wide leadership development programs that enable leader effectiveness, prepare talent pipelines, and align with the enterprise-wide talent development strategy.

In this critical role, you will partner with key stakeholders within Learning & Talent Management, Human Resources, Culture, Diversity, and Belonging, and functional business units to assess leadership development needs, offer your design, development, and delivery expertise, align leadership learning content across various levels of leadership, prioritize projects, programs and experiences against a set of strategic initiatives, and drive program advocacy and adoption. You will also lead a small team of program managers and project specialists in the coordination and delivery of high-impact, scalable, global learning programs that meet business objectives and embody our Culture Code.

As the leadership development SME, you will ensure materials are high quality, meet identified learning outcomes, are guided by adult learning principles, and marry best practices and current industry trends with innovative, cutting-edge ideas.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in designing, managing, and facilitating custom digital, in-person, and VILT leadership development experiences in a large, global, hybrid, growth-oriented corporate business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design, development, and delivery of learning content and programs for people managers to foster development of key competencies, knowledge, and skills
  • Provide leadership development subject matter expertise to programming within your remit (people managers) and use your expertise to support leadership development efforts led by peers within and outside of the People and Places (HR) team
  • Lead and support your team in their efforts to manage project(s) from initial planning through delivery including converting program requirements to executable deliverables, developing and maintaining project schedules, completing status reports, and driving implementation and communication plans, while effectively removing roadblocks
  • Ensure that the Learning & Talent Management extended leadership and program management teams have clear, concise, and up-to-date information on your team's progress against key strategic deliverables
  • Oversee program budgets and participation levels, ensuring programs deliver on expectations
  • Maximize the use of technology available to deploy learning solutions enterprise-wide
  • Evaluate current learning programs regularly to offer insight on opportunities for improvement and remain responsive to developing trends, evolving company strategy, and industry best practices
  • Facilitate live virtual and in-person events as needed such as program sessions, panels, and leadership development resource "road shows"
  • Partner with internal and external resources (including vendors) to develop learning materials and experiences, and report on impact and feedback
  • Partner with People Operations colleagues, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to ensure learning programs align with organizational objectives, values, and operational excellence processes
  • Partner with cross-functional leadership development colleagues to align content, provide governance, and facilitate collaboration and best practice sharing
  • Partner with internal sourcing and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate operational processes
  • Evaluate current and prospective learning design and delivery tools, technologies, and partners to support continuous innovation and learning effectiveness

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in the design, development, and delivery of leadership development programs with digital components and live instruction
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams
  • Skilled at developing and maintaining effective internal relationships. Adept at collaborating within a highly matrixed, cross-geo, cross-functional environment
  • Extensive knowledge of adult learning theory, leadership competency development, program design, curriculum design principles, instructional design (in-person, virtual, and on-demand formats), and evaluation methodology/practice
  • Willingness to work at both strategic and operational levels (thinking strategically and working hands on), with strong process and detail orientation
  • Skill and experience evaluating and managing vendor partnerships
  • Deep familiarity with the latest trends and technologies in adult learning and behavior change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent virtual and in-person workshop delivery/facilitation skills
  • Highly self-driven and motivated; proactive with a strong entrepreneurial mindset
  • Willingness to accept feedback and iterate to improve process or product
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and agility while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams in a global, virtual environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Human centered design experience
  • Master's degree in a related field

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $127,200 and $205,810. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
