As the Senior Manager, Linehaul, you will lead multiple projects in the Linehaul network space to drive improvements in cost, efficiency, and on-time service for XPO's Purchased Transportation network. You'll manage $500 million in spend, formulate processes and programs, and ensure successful achievement of operational goals and objectives. What you'll do on a typical day:

• Collaborate with direct reports and departmental teams on achieving goals and performance targets
• Drive for results through leadership and clear communication with team; create continuous improvement opportunities to reduce costs and improve profitability
• Participate in establishing strategic plans with senior management team; develop IT solutions, BI reports, and third-party transportation providers
• Partner with field management teams to aggressively search for opportunities to improve operational execution, cost savings and profitability
• Collaborate with all levels and departments to include executives and leaders of several functional areas, including Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Finance, IT, BI and Safety
• Provide strategic leadership and direction for assigned area; manage multiple teams with related activities that represent or significantly impact a sub-function
• Oversee projects that directly impact business unit strategy
• Participate in business unit or corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people
• Continual review and modification of network design
• Build and maintain partnerships with third party transportation providers

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

• 5 years of experience in an LTL, supply chain or transportation service company
• Prior experience purchasing LTL and Truckload transportation
• Previous supervisory experience in a team-focused environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management techniques and processes
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); ability to perform and direct moderately complex analysis in Excel
• Ability to manage personnel on-site and remotely

It'd be great if you also have:

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field such as Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Finance, etc., or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Availability to travel up to 25% of the time
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and leadership skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive materials and information
• P&L management experience
