We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago and Washington, DC for a Senior Manager Market Intelligence on our Strategy team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

As a Senior Manager Market Intelligence you will be responsible forhelping shape the overall market intelligence footprint of the StrategicInsights department, including bringing an external market perspective, trends,and analysis to AMA, as well as helping business units in developing and executenew opportunities. This person will work closely with the Vice President of Researchand Insights, AMA leadership, its network of partners and innovators, and otherteam members to identify and provide insights on trends of importance for AMAand its mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop novel insights and analysis related to important new themes to AMA and the healthcare environment

  • Work with team to develop ascalableframework for identifying quarterlytheme andmarket developments acrossmultipletime horizons for AMA.
  • Spearhead environmental assumptions development and themes for future AMA planning.
  • Create and disseminate insights-driven deliverables to the enterprise on topics of emerging orcross-cutting importance to theAMA.
  • Oversee and coach team through research process including data analysis, interviewing, insight generation, framing, content design, and delivery.
  • Be an enterprise subject matter expert on new and emerging themes in healthcare; consult on the interpretation and translation of insights into actionable plans; provide guidance to other team members across AMA involved in related projects.

Develop and lead competitive intelligence, analytics, and the development of new strategic opportunities for AMA

  • In partnership with the VP of Research and Insights, lead in the identification, sourcing, development, and day-to-day execution of projects related to market and competitive intelligence, trends, analytics, new opportunities, product expansion, and partnerships.
  • Lead the utilization of open source and private source market intelligence to develop insights, forward-looking analyses, and strategy recommendations.
  • Prepare proposal, reports or presentations demonstrating the potential value of new mission opportunities.
  • Source and manage vendor relationships when utilizing vendors for specific projects.

Develop external and internal relationships to create collaborative opportunities for impact

  • Develop and maintain relationships with outside stakeholders across healthcare and business environment to perpetuate existing and new market engagement and outreach activities related to AMA mission and strategy; communicate enterprise objectives to our stakeholders and potential collaborators.
  • Serve as a consultative AMA expert in emerging trends both internally and externally, present on behalf of the AMA at various conferences and or roundtables.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all relevant AMA initiatives and ensure the AMA is connected across initiatives.

Staff Management and Development

  • Lead, mentor and provide management oversight for professional staff; identify opportunities for advancing staff skills and expertise.
  • Responsible for setting objectives and evaluating performance.
  • Maintain responsibility for project and team progress and performance spanning core functions of unit help identify and set objectives and measuring progress for department.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree or higher in business administration, health administration or in a related field preferred.
  2. Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience
  3. Minimum 3+ years' experience with staff management; ability lead and mentor talent; demonstrated ability to build, lead and motivate teams.
  4. Passion for and knowledge of the healthcare industry or relevant consulting experience required.
  5. Ability to assimilate current industry advances and developments into opportunities and projects that connect back to enterprise strategies.
  6. Ability to synthesize complex ideas and data into actionable and predictive insights.
  7. Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills required: with the ability to build authentic relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders.
  8. Experience managing vendors and/or working with industry databases (e.g., Definitive Healthcare, CB Insights, Crunchbase, S&P Capital IQ) and proficient in Excel
  9. Demonstrated negotiation and facilitation skills with the ability to exercise diplomacy, tact, professionalism, responsiveness, and a high level of flexibility
  10. Comfort with ambiguity and ability to thrive in a fluid environment.
  11. Some travel required.
