The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Market Research to lead customer-focused primary research projects. Reporting to the Group Manager, Market Research and sitting within the Product Marketing, Market Research & Monetization team, you will work closely with Product, Marketing and Customer success teams, always making sure to represent the voice of our customers. You will contribute to the customer research roadmap and uncover insights that directly impact critical business priorities.Ā  You will identify and address key gaps in our organization’s knowledge and create the learning plan to address them.Ā  This role will primarily be hands-on research (designing, programming, analyzing), with opportunities to on-board and guide research agencies as needed. Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic research using primary, secondary and syndicated data sources
  • Set research goals and objectives, write surveys, create strong sampling and weighting schemes, analyze results and present recommendations to leadership
  • Translate complex data sets into a clear and compelling written narrative
  • Answer the ā€˜so what?’ from the research projects and help shape strategy based on resulting findings
  • Accurately represent, and advocate for, our customers in all analysis and meetings
  • Guide key product-related studies as well as larger strategic research initiatives (TAM, personas, pricing studies, messaging, brand measurement, etc.)
  • Connect the dots between different data sources including research and data to craft a story
  • Consult on research best practices, enabling members of the broader organization to conduct their own research

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of marketing research, or 6+ years and advanced degree
  • Significant experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
  • Significant experience leading primary research studies across various quantitative methodologies
  • Comfortable conducting qualitative research: 1:1 interviews, ethnographies, focus groups
  • Third party vendor/research partner management contract negotiation experience
  • Experience on the research vendor side or within the research group of a SAAS, SMB or consumer brand
  • Ability to create new methodologies and processes to help inform development and production
  • Excellent verbal, written, visual/presentation and interpersonal communication skills, with comfort communicating findings and business strategy impact to senior leadership
  • Self-starter who sees ambiguity as an opportunity. Problem solver who is excited for the challenge and willing to roll up the sleeves to overcome obstacles in creative ways
  • Familiarity and comfortability facilitating projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders
  • Startup Savvy. You understand the fast pace, the scrappiness, and flexibility required for success
  • Preferred: ability to utilize various quantitative statistical techniques (regression analysis, coefficient correlation), with experience programming conjoint research and building analytic tools (e.g. simulators)

Base Compensation Range

$120,000 - $155,000 annually

Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission and equity. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.

The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
