Position Overview:
The Senior Manager, Market Research is a strategic thought partner and analytical expert who provides critical contributions based on insights from primary market research and translating those insights to inform the commercial strategy.
This role is responsible for leading the design and execution of primary market research efforts, including primary and secondary competitive intelligence data collection, for both in-line and pipeline indications. The role will partner with commercial leadership (Marketing, Sales, Market Access) to plan, budget, direct, and execute initiatives in support of commercialization strategies.

Essential Functions Required for Job
- Lead the design, execution, and interpretation of market research studies, as well as employ a wide variety of secondary sources, to inform understanding of market landscape, product performance, and commercial decision-making for in-line, pipeline, and in-licensing opportunities
- Accurately translate business questions identified by internal stakeholders into market research designs that generate in-depth customer insights and identify business opportunities
- Demonstrate mastery of primary research designs and analysis, and develop and deploy innovative research techniques to address complex business issues
- Lead CI efforts with regular landscape updates and timely alerts on key external events; develop and maintain competitive environment landscapes and other needed assessments (threat assessments, benchmarking, etc.)
- Translate findings into implications and actionable insights; present findings and business-building recommendations to senior leadership and influence teams’ decision-making
- Optimize the research budget to provide valuable insights that are aligned to the business needs of the company
- Provide insights on the potential impact of competitors for forecast models and strategic plans
- Provide reports and ad hoc analytics based on secondary data to track and sharpen understanding of market dynamics and customer behaviors
The Person
Education: Bachelor’s degree in life science, business or marketing related disciplines. Master’s degree preferred.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of primary market research experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry, preferably with experience supporting launch and growing products
- Strong knowledge of data analytics, spreadsheet creation and manipulation, database and presentation software
- In-depth strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills
- Highly skilled in working collaboratively in team-based environment and gaining alignment across an organization
- Superior interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively communicate at all levels internally and externally
- Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities
