GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager is a key member of the firm's Communications team that collaborates closely with the broader Marketing team. The Senior Manager plays a pivotal role in enhancing Dechert LLP's global profile through advising on and helping implement strategic marketing and communication initiatives. This role involves two key responsibilities: 1) project managing major firm multi-channel marketing campaigns, including strategizing how to distribute content through various channels and analyzing performance metrics to maximize marketing efforts; and 2) leading the production of digital content including podcasts and videos. The Senior Manager will help improve the department's overall efforts around integrated marketing campaigns, driving best practices across the firm.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Campaign Management:
- Help develop, supervise, execute, monitor and measure strategic marketing and communication plans on a global scale, in collaboration with various offices, practices and marketing/communications channels.
- Oversee the delivery of impactful content, providing creative feedback, aligning across channels and cascading changes across team.
- Manage campaign implementation timeline, stakeholder communication and adherence to marketing guidelines.
- Establish, gather and analyze performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to enhance campaign effectiveness.
- Provide guidance and support to lawyers on effective communication and marketing strategies.
- Foster strong relationships across the firm, collaborating with key stakeholders to achieve an integrated approach to marketing and communications.
- Compile regular reports of campaign performance and results.
- Improve new campaigns using data and feedback from existing and previous projects.
Digital Content:
- Collaborate on the development of video and podcast strategy, calendar and project plan that align with overall marketing priorities and advance the firm's brand.
- Direct and produce external video content, including serving as creative content lead, managing junior team members in pre-production, production and post-production phases of in-house content and supervising video work outsourced to contractors.
- Execute the firm's podcast strategy overseeing production, editing, and approval, delegating as appropriate to junior team members.
- Work on launch plans for new podcasts as they arise, establishing KPIs to measure performance, and develop best practices for distribution and promotion.
- Serve as a strategic advisor on the firm's broader social media engagement.
General:
- Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and agencies to ensure that all design and multimedia projects are completed within budget and meet the firm's quality standards.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in digital content production, and advocate for new tools, technologies, and approaches to improve the firm's brand and overall marketing efforts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the firm, including partners and senior marketing team members to ensure that campaigns meet their needs and expectations.
- Other responsibilities as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience project managing multi-channel marketing communication campaigns.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to analyze and communicate KPI data.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to deal with complex subject matter - preferably legal or financial.
- Knowledge of the firm's policies and procedures.
- Comfort and competence with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to prioritize, coordinate and delegate work.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team player.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- College degree with an emphasis on communications, journalism, public relations, or English.
- 8+ years of experience overseeing multi-channel marketing communications campaigns, preferably with a professional services firm.
- Experience in video and podcast production.
- Understanding of legal industry is a plus.
