Trimble is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead our Mobile R&D team in developing a strategic next generation cross-platform mobile solution for an entire sector of the company.

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for leading and managing a high performing team of skilled software engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software products. You will play a crucial role in driving technical excellence, ensuring project success, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Your combination of leadership skills and technical expertise will be instrumental in shaping our software architecture and development strategies.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading scrum team(s) to deliver high profile customer facing application serving a global user base
• Cultivate an environment making this a place where people want to work
• Experience growing and nurturing developers to become high performers
• Introduce new technologies, tools and practices to the team, helping to drive innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Project Management skills: defining and managing project schedules, dependencies and risks
• Candidate interviews, and managing the hiring process to attract top software engineering talent
• Bridge the gap from technical and non-technical team members
• Working with other teams in a global organization

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

Skills & Experience Required/Desired:

• Prior mobile development experience. We expect that you have prior experience developing mobile applications either in Kotlin, Android, Swift, Xamarin/MAUI or other technology where you have brought an application into the app store and into production.
• Self-driven professional able to work in a team environment, demonstrating a high personal interest in areas of software development and committed to producing high quality work.
• Has good instincts that lead to correct solutions most of the time.
• Has a positive "can do" attitude. Try to figure out how to do something without understanding all the data points.
• Prior leadership experience running scrum teams in agile/lean environment
• Broad understanding of both client and server software development
• Recent Software Development Experience. Prior experience as a senior software developer is a must.
• Experience implementing common software design patterns
• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development and Test Automation
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated to expand current skill set and develop knowledge of Trimble product portfolio.
• Strong work ethic. Tenacious, Grit, Resolve
• Strong analytical skills, creative, innovative and open-minded.
• Problem-solving, time management skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Having a flexible approach to working in a changing environment
• Willing and able to mentor others in a team environment
• Skilled in the art of maximizing the amount of work not done. Knows how to prioritize properly and filter out the noise to increase the velocity of the team
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and results-oriented environment
• BS. Computer Science and recent updates in your technical skills
